Never heard of either band but I like when the names of the bands let you know you never want to listen to them.

I just looked to see when Deafheaven is playing and couldn't find it. When are they playing?

I did however see that they opened for Alcest last year? JESUS CHRIST. I really wanted to see Alcest but just couldn't make it happen. And now that Deafheaven is my shit, I'm even more bummed.

edit: Googled and found the 6/30 RnR date
Or more appropriate here, Mumford and Sons?

Althought Butthole Surfers might be an exception to the rule.
Everyone sleeping on Diarrhea Planet is only depriving himself or herself.
i used to love butthole surfers.  love.  listen to them like im in love.  the story where gibby is naked on lsd at a concert and getting beat up . . . is the best rock and roll story of all time.  but they are over.  you hear that.  over.  i dont reference them any more.  barely listen anymore.  is that wrong.  is that right.  like nirvana, too.  over.  the end.
I love the Butthole Surfers.  "Pepper" kind of sucks (and totally sounds like a Beck parody), but their earlier stuff was rad.  I also like Honky and am stoked to see them again, opening for the Melvins in Aug.

presuming they return in the fall for a headliner tour w/ the new LP, it's a rare instance where i'm not sure there is a proper venue for them to play. black cat won't do those guys justice.
they could change their name.  that might alter things for them.

I could see them on the backstage. I missed the last Casa Fiesta show but the first one was great fun.
casa fiesta was hilariously awesome.
The Mickey Hart Band are set to release their new album SUPERORGANISM on August 13th, 2013 featuring lyrics by Robert Hunter. Hart has sonified the sounds of the human brain, heart, and stem cells for this record. The band will hit the road in August to celebrate Mickey's 70th Birthday. Each night of the tour, Hart will perform with an EEG cap on his head while he plays the sounds of his brain.

'Nuff said.

the real pity here is that GYBE is opening for them.  they are not an arena act, and i fear it's going to be painful listening to them (or trying to ) in a venue half-full of drunk bros & repressed suburbanites reliving their college days.  you know some idiots are going to try moshing to the drone…
Sounds like the crowd at the HTDA show.  Why do "bros" like Trent so much?  The "bros" i went to high school with, did NOT listen to nin.  The 'bros' liked country, Matchbox 20, and other BS like that.  Must be an East Coast Bro thing (i grew up in Louisiana but have lived here since 02). But yes Bros will be bros.
