if you go to the DK's fb page…almost every comment is: no jello-no DK

I'm still a little shocked they are playing the 9:30
I guess they can get 500 people who weren't aware that jello won't be fronting?
I heard it is still a, fun time.

The Watson Twins are awesome…wish they'd just tour
Southern Manners is so good
didn't realize they put out a new album in 2013

I see this is a Rabbit Fur Coat Anniversary Tour
over $50 after fees seems a bit much to me
yeah its way better seeing jello biafra and the guantanamo school of medicine do DK covers

well i mean i haven't seen DK, so I guess I can't really say that..but I can't imagine its any good

I saw Jessie Baylin (wife of one of the Kings of Leon) play Iota back in 2012. Her band included the Watson Twins and the Watson Twins opened the show.

Honestly, the Watson Twins were pretty boring on their own, but Jessie was good.
My only Dead Kennedys experience was a Jello Biaffra spoken word performance at my university back in the 80's…

I get your point and I agree to an extent, but listen to any DK track without vocals and musically they were quite unique and Klaus, D.H and Ray contributed as much to their sound as Jello did. Just on that point alone I think it would be a worthwhile show.

the singer gets laid, the drummer gets paid
I discovered DKs too late so I never saw them proper, but Jello doing DK covers with the Melvins at the BC a few years ago was great.

I've never been to a spoken word event that I can remember…

I wouldn't mind seeing Henry Rollins next time….I been reading a lot of his books…

I really like Rollins' books and I have about a dozen of them. That said, I think his spoken word shows are 25% interesting and insightful and 75% lowest-common-denominator crap, along the lines of "Dick Cheney, eh?…. How about THAT guy?!? HE SHOT A DUDE! [waits for applause]. I mean, HALLIBURTON! [waits for applause]"

I walked out of the Birchmere really disappointed and wishing I'd never gone. Just my two cents.

i paid to see Hank speak at his 50th bday thingy.  i thought it was worth it.  from what i remember proportions were inverted there - 75% good content, 25% crap.  it was more personal than some of his other spoken word stuff i've heard, maybe that made it more interesting.

aside: back in my punk rawk days, i was really into rollins' books, spoken word, etc.  i bought a copy of "Short Walk on a Long Pier" which was a mis-print.  instead of spoken word, it was jazz music.  i've long since lost that piece of vinyl, but i wonder what it would be worth today… $10?
I need to get that signed Rolins poster from his website.. and buy the Get in the van book and read it..

One thing I realized from reading his books is how much Rollins detests talking to his fans! He's kind of like me.. obsessed with his records.. calls himself a "cat lady with records"…

My favorite Rollins anything is his performance in the Chase… SO good!

I was hoping for a Baltimore date, but their schedule is full.  I guess I will have to go to that venue and break my boycott.
The band Garbage is terrible and I am surprised so many people on here like them.  I guess we all have our Guilty Pleasures.

But seriously, they were one of the worst 90s bands;  So bad.

Yeah, sounds like a natural Julian band.
