They recently played the U St Music Hall, did anyone go? I really wanted to but just couldn't make it happen.

Yes. It was particularly loud, and the crowd was kind of small. I remember that security was trying to get people out (?) but it was not clear what they did. I also saw Mudhoney in ~2011 and the U Street show was very similar, so I'm waiting to see the setlists for this one as I don't really need to hear the same old songs again, although I certainly recommend seeing them at least once.

Velvet Lounge is still around! I drink there. Constantly.

Thanks for posting this! "Luxury Problems" is my favorite album of the past five years or so.

That is a pretty solid summer line up and bands that I think would play well in a outdoor arena
I read GGW's and my first thought was the wolf trap is really sucking balls
this post renewed my faith in WT's programing

What, did you just turn 50?
also, I'm pretty sure you can copy and paste the line up from the previous 10 years at Wolf Trap.

meh… $175 really for 2 days?
This event has always felt to me like DFA1979's H St coke-fueled wet dream, and going last year for Lana pretty much confirms it. I mean look at this lineup: who, outside of idioticly coiffed hipster DJs would go see this shitheap of ecstacy acts?
a couple of my good friends went to the festival a few years back and said they could not believe the amount of people they saw doing coke - most of them looked like they were 16 years old.

You think I do coke? This line up sucks. I'd go for Kendrick and The Weeknd. No WAY that's worth $175. LOL.

ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS?! That is insane.

Easy there.  I'm closer to 50 than 25 and even I think that summer line up is boring.
That is a pretty solid summer line up and bands that I think would play well in a outdoor arena

what I meant is I hate places like the Wolf trap (or any outdoor shows)
but I thought those were good bands to see in a venue like that
You know drinking box wine on a picnic blanket and not really paying attention to the band

my highlights were Cheap Trick, Punch Bros, Buena Vista and I'd see fogerty again,

but truth be told there is very little likelihood that I see any of those shows
Unless Hutch get's me some VIP access… ;D
I had you pegged as front row for Steve Miller.

well I once got backstage passes for Tony Bennett at Wolftrap… that was cool….I mean I got to meet him….

I'm not riveted by any Wolftrap lineup this year… I find myself going less and less.. I love the venue though

If Cheap Trick wasn't paired with Frampton I might be interested….

this lineup is only the first part… lets hope for better… I had heard they had stepped up their game…

You, sir, do an excellent job of painting a vibrant picture of a Hell on Earth… *shudder*

Let's be clear, I do not want to get pegged by Grateful
at Steve miller or at Lady Gaga

From year to year, this is about 90% true. Ten years from now it'll be annual visits by DCFC, Passion Pit, etc.

As for Sweetlife, it's always been for the rich kids. It's kind of a training event for those too young to go to Coachella on their own.
