Body passing? Shit, I thought it said body piercing. I'm cool with body passing, whatever that is.

Wow, it really got nominated for Best Picture? Sure, the film was non-stop fun and looks great, but best picture of the year? Really? I'd love if it won. Only to piss everyone off, but I guess I didn't realize so many people/publications/sites picked it as their top of the year.
Sicario was absolutely fantastic.
This is the price you pay for expanding the category from 5 nominations to 10.
But think about this - they only nominated 8 this year - they couldn't even find two more that were worthy after including Mad Max.

vansmack wrote:To be fair that's because of how they've changed the rules. It went from 5 to 10 but then a few years ago it went to "up to 10." Films have to get a certain % of first-place votes to be a nominee. Oscar insiders say 8 films is going to start being the most common nominee amount just because of the voting system mathematically.

The whole Oscar voting protocols for Best Picture are bizarre and if more people knew how they decided on a winner, they'd think its nuts.

that is arguably one of the hardest questions ever asked on this board. i'm at a loss. i believe that wml7 is at the bottom of the list. space and julian are clearly at the top, i can't decide between them - hate is the strongest motivator for obsession, so maybe jules barely nudges into first. my brewing obsession is just below those two (you folks have no idea). so i guess that makes you 4th. discuss.
I really can't believe you aren't all talking about this breaking news
