the date format the makes the most sense is YYYY-MM-DD, with zeros in front of single digits (2014-02-09).  why?  dates are then sortable.  </nerd rant>

If you work for me, it is a requirement that you save ALL documents in this format.

I like the old European elegance of 19.XII.2014. I use that style for otherwise untitled boots in my iTunes.

And speaking of Roman numerals and Serial, I work with serials a lot at work. Many have been using Roman numerals for volume numbers for decades, and many of them should stop that practice. Beyond XXXIX, a lot them muck it up.

we need a new thread dedicated to a tacky song list for some interesting new news article going on in the real world.
OK, no need to clutter the Death thread.

But, just because some of you don't like the two 90s Woodstocks, doesnt mean they didnt exist.
Artists I would have wanted to see at Woodstock:
Santana, Canned Heat, Mountain, Grateful Dead, CCR, Sly and the Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, the Band, CSNY, Jimi Hendrix

Woodstock 1994:
Candlebox, James, King's X, Live, Violent Femmes, Aphex Twin, Doc Martin, Frankie Bones, Kevin Saunderson, Little Louie Vega, the Orb, Orbital, Joe Cocker, Blind Melon, Cyprus Hill, Rollins Band, CSN, nine inch nails, Metallica, the Cranberries, the Band, Primus, Arrested Development, Allman Brothers Band, Traffic, Porno for Pyros, Peter Gabriel, Gil Scott Heron, Neville Brothers, Santana

Woodstock 1999:
G. Love and Special Sauce, The String Cheese Incident, moe., The Roots, George Clinton & the P.Funk All-Stars, James Brown, Jamiroquai, Live, DMX, Korn, Bush, Ben Lee, Moby, Ice Cube, Mickey Hart/Planet Drum, The Chemical Brothers, The Tragically Hip, Counting Crows, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Muse

To me, it seems like 1994 would have been the one to have went to.

Was that Gang Rape Woodstock?
No, that was 1999.

1994 was the mud one.
you know, if you just talk to someone, any one, even if it is just your cat . . . you feel, better.  so don't go through life being a quiet person.  talk to people, and feel, better.
I thought 1994 was the one they set the place on fire while the Chilli Peppers played?

I mean really.. are we going to compare  these cash-in events to WOODSTOCK?

what is next???  I just wait for KillsallyTM to post about how the fucking forefingers are better than the beatles (yeah the fucking forefingers that are playin the House below the floorboards in NE DC)

Sometimes the conversations with the cat are the most intelligent ones of the day!

I I don't like the Beatles, at all.  I like at least 1000, if not more, bands than them.

I know you think you are cute and all with your
"oh look at you, you like something that is not the most popular thing ever blah blah blah"

But, that is a good example.  I don't like the Beatles, at all.  I like at least 1000, if not more, bands than them.

OK then list all 1,000 with web links…

Moby 'performing' in and of itself lowers the this 'concert' from being even close to the level of the only real Woodstock.

Don't temp me.  I currently follow 1,299 bands/musicians/record labels and add more every day.   My iTunes library has 2746 different artists.  If you want, I can export my library and post the list.
