I like the Geordi La Forge variant for things that are very similar but one is popular while the other is reviled. Somewhere in this hellhole I have him passing on DMSO while getting excited about CBD.

On a similar note, I wondered recently if today's youngins know what Apple's "Mac" is short for. I asked a couple of the college students I work with, a 30ish grad and 19-year-old undergrad. Both said Macintosh but neither were sure. The undergrad had seen it used deep in the weeds of Mac settings.
