I was going to go with Wilford, but though crosby was a better musical reference…and my bad…
that is Larry Beckett (poet and lyricist for Tim Buckley) and you are correct on spotting Peter Buck

THE CROW SCRIPTS AND CORRESPONDENCE. To include copy of letter written to Rob Gretton asking if the band would like to be involved with the soundtrack for the film, an original draft copy of the film script dated January 4 1993 plus an original proof copy of the graphic novel by J.O'Barr.
"The asked for our involvement. Such a shame we did not do it. Some great groups appeared on the soundtrack. I loved it the script and had read the comic. We were asked to re-record 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' and' Dead Souls' as New Order for the film but Barney said, "Why would anyone want New Order to play a Joy Division song?" and that was the end of that!. Nine inch Nails jumped at the chance."

Come now, this is for the fans!
Or….“It makes me all the more determined to fuck New Order over in any possible way I can. If they think I’m just going to scuttle off to a cabin in the woods, they’ve got another thing coming. They’re dickheads. People go and hide, but I don’t. I’m a fighter. I’m going to come out fighting.”

I hope it works better than Pandora's version. My RHCP mute button never worked properly….
