The USS Cole and USS Bulkeley, 2 of the destroyers in the eastern Med, fired about a dozen interceptors at incoming Iranian missiles, Pentagon Press Sec Ryder says
oh and it is that USS Cole that was bombed in Yemen in 2000

no I did not know about that, so this is news to me
and I was under the impression that us was only providing lots of cash/weapons/intelligence…but not actually fighting

pretty common for initial missiles to all be shot down, but with time & saturation eventually some make it through. i'm seeing estimates that 180 missiles were fired… can't catch 'em all. an israeli air force base was hit pretty hard, among other spots.
