Anybody know why Arlington is a part of Virginia? I mean wasn’t it a part of Dc until the civil war? Why wasn’t it reclaimed by DC after the civil war? Was it to punish Arlington?

If so this seems strange…even in DC most people (man on the street) supported the confederacy

Heads over to Wikipedia to edit Beltsville entry to indicate it was named after Ned Belt

Edit… no need it was named after the esteemed Truman Belt, whose good name shall not be besmirched!!!!

I know some people that spearheaded this effort. I was very happy they failed.
