Would we really be talking about this if she didn't do an album with Jack White? /bigyawned
definitely a White Stripes precursor.

Admittedly I think Jack White is a bigger yawn than Loretta.
Can you imagine if an artist attempted to release that song today?  Good, lord.
No

And I can’t imagine someone in 1970 imagining the music of 1920 and I can’t imagine someone in 1920 imagining the music of 1870 etc etc ad infinitum

Because popular music is a reflection of its time…
Lynn is one quarter Cherokee…

I didn't realize your daughter is bi-racial!
Squaw is a bit of a slur, I believe?  Hope things haven’t taken a huge turn for the worst.

No slur intended. When the shit hits the fan at my house, which it often does, that song pops into my head. Just the song title mind you. I'm not a drunk  like the guy in the song. Just a guy who occasionally doesn't spread the wash cloth back out on the rack properly, or who cleans the table after dinner but occasionally misses a crumb or two.

In reality, the song would be more aptly entitled "The Lugan is on the Warpath Again."
