Ya feel me sidehutch?

So my parents made a deal with me years ago (they live in both FL and NY)
that they will always pay for flights if we bring the kids

So I don't need no freaking points plan when I have my parents love (and money)

hey I'm not the one who gets $300 porch bombs a few times a year
but it does help to have parents who value family time over expensive cars

well you may have a point..but my parents were public school teachers…so hardly rich
One of my inlaws we have to pay to fly her in.. haven't seen her since the birth of my 4 year old…even if you pay for her to fly she gets do discombobulated from the trip from the west coast that its too hard.. her new husband is completely bonkers and would never come and its hard for her to leave him…last time she thought she was dying and i had to take her to some doctor another has alzheimers and lives a mile so we don't have to spend money to go see him but it kind of blows..forget him remembering the kids birthdays.. another lives in Miami Beach and is perfectly content to let the years go by with the very ocassional phone call where all he does is ask about how the kids are doing but then he of course forgets their birthdays and is fine not to see them for years… i think he may also have some mental illness which i probably have too.. our superstar grandparent lives in Argentina but lost all her money in the STanford Bank thingie.. so we have to pay to fly her in once or twice a year…us all flying to Buenos Aires is looking a bit expensive…

thats the way the cookie crumbles sometimes…it amuses me sometimes to see my friends who have parents that help them out financially, visit all the time etc… because it is so completely different from my reality…

I'm hearing ya…

I don't think my in-laws have bothered to visit at all in the last 7+ years. And they're only 65 and live east of the Mississippi. And not a dime from either side of the family since our wedding 13+ years ago. Oh well, as you say that's the way the cookie crumbles.

My wife and i have decided we definitely will move to within an hour or two's drive from wherever our daughter ends up, once we retire.
