If we stay up, we'll be without a bed to sleep in for about 38 hours until we are home, depending on how late we sleep the previous morning. Unless you count the second, longer flight as a bed to sleep in. My wife can fall asleep anywhere anytime, me and the kid not so much. But we fly back on a Friday, so have the whole weekend to recover.

Another option would be to stay out late by attending the first day of the Nos Alive Festival, but they're not live music people, and I'm not a big festival person.

First time for Fidens in VA. Won't be a normal purchase at that price.

That's a good point. If we miss our connection we may be stuck in Madrid for the day. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if we had slept a few hours.
