Does anyone else here have a spouse who emails you at work declaring that there is a new house rule that you have to put the lid down after you shit? (failing to put the seat down after you piss is already punishable with verbal abuse) Does anyone here already have this as a house rule?

I see that the internet says it's a good idea to put the lid down *before* you flush. Does that mean you should wait until it's done flushing and lift the lid back up to check if it all went down, then put the lid down a second time?

Please help!
