"We're not just angry over a shirt color," said the Wednesday Bluesky post. "Starbucks is a MASSIVE company without focus. They refuse to staff our stores properly, give guaranteed hours to workers, pay us a living wage, or provide stipends to pay for this arbitrary dress code. We need fair union contracts NOW."

good, there is more to the story.  Obviously corp media needed to frame it that way.  But wasn't clear from the get go that those other items were on the list

So I guess I rescind my disappointment in this

while I was fairly sad as I read that…the last paragraph gave me some hope

Of course, Guided by Voices have called it quits before: they broke up in 2004 but reformed in 2010, stopped in 2014 and then reformed in 2016. So Bob, at 67, could change his mind or restart GBV with a new lineup

My first thought was…the configuration that had bbj will no longer be playing live, possibly after that interview
Five members of the Supreme Court recluse themselves from a case because of (checks notes) it would involve impacting their side hustle of writing books
But that was different cause he kept going as Robert Polkard, Boston Spaceships or Ricked Wicky

I think Bob thinks he is done but even the best laid plans can change. There was a picture BBJ shared a few weeks ago of Pollard- visiting- and himself hanging out so when he says they are done I think it’s cause Bob told him so.
And Bob is 67 and probably has grandkids and is collecting social security and has Medicare. He wasn’t making major money playing shows (and having to pay the four other band guys) and having to slum it driving long distances etc. My guess is the band guys didn’t even get paid for the work on albums with their payoff being the shows. So the GBV albums will come to a halt too. How much were they selling? 1000 copies maybe? It’s a hard business to make a living unless you are big and GBV was at 500 person shows and not charging that much. Bob can hang out at home, put the Reds game on and work on his collage art.
Well i guess I'll just kill myself then!

first, it's "recuse", not "recluse"  ;D

second, you've got it backwards: it's not that the case will affect their (future) book-writing, it's their (past) book-writing might affect the case.  5 justices have previously received money from the publisher, so the concern is that they won't be impartial.  newsflash: that's good justice (but a bad headline/social media post/outrage generator/bumper sticker).

On principle, I like it!
Wait, just realized that red card wasn’t coming from our board referee, Hutch, and rather our board Pope. This is a clear violation of church and state. I don’t want the clergy calling penalties! We are a mere hop, skip, and a jump from being able to buy plenary indulgences which just favors the wealth cla—

Actually on second thought, this fine and fuck Sweets.
