Analogous to St Patty's Day?

Pretty much.

great analogy…st pats is armature hour
only difference is a bunch of people high isn't as much as a public nuisance/danger as a bunch of lightweights puking up green beer in the streets

also on that note…I'm sad that I can't post this in the 'weee legal drugs' thread

DC Council Folds To Congress, Approves Permanent Ban On Pot Clubs

why do they have to say Permanent…why can't they just say a Ban?
it only lost by ONE vote

Hey Walky, what are the odds that Old Rag will be convered in smoke this weekend?
Dude, ster . . . The thing is 6000 acres on fucking fire.  I could weep at the loss of animal life, and they think it was man made started.  Fuck every, thing.

Oh and by the way, i would have to think that you will definitely smell it on the trail, but whether the smoke will cause issues for hiking . . . again, tough call.  Live,  a little, my friend.

I don't mind the smoke myself, but my daughter had some health issues that we think were exacerbated by some backyard bonfires we did a couple years ago. Gotta watch our for the little ones.
I have always preferred the tilde over all other punctuation marks.  The umlaut is a close second.
The umlaut is a diacritical mark, not punctuation.

The em and en dashes are my go-to metadata weapons.

~~ are always fun
but I agree umlats rock  (an Ah for ä and ?oh? for ö.)

the current incarnation is a modern thing…
Since the Middle Ages, umlauted vowels have been indicated in various ways in German. Before the two-dot version became the standard in the 19th century,
I'm all about the "."…nothing else excited me quite like the period.. I like to invert its use and turn into unfinished business stripping it of the shackles imposed on it by our punctuation corseted society.. my periods do not die.. they do not kill anyone.. they live on….

I had a design teacher once who always said that one's knowledge of how and when to use the em and en dashes where what separated designers from "desktop publishers" lol he was such a design elitist
