Your first paragraph hooked me and the second one lost me.
I shouldn't be so harsh on pets for I enjoy them when they are somebody else's actually. I just could never own pets anymore because they are too much of a hassle and they cost too much money and all of that outweighs any positives and the fact that I'm not home enough to take care of a pet or deal with a pet or deal with the pets eventually death which is an emotional wreckage and I can't understand why people would want to go through all of that but that's just me.

yeah, i feel ya. every now and then, in a moment of emotional fragility, i look at my dog and get sad that i'm going to outlive her. but we're all here only for a moment, some moments are shorter than others, and while corny i do believe in "it's better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all." for corny ol' me, the good times outweigh the eventual big bad one. it's a good exercise in living here and now, not in the future.
