i probably wont drink them for another 3 years, but damn do i look forward to cracking one of those open.

Do you plan on being pregnant for the next 3 years?

adam is real good. i was an even bigger fred fan.  on draft, that is. i haven't had either from the bottle.
Pretty sure brennser brought an Adam to a bottle share. Though we've had so many good beers at those, it's hard to keep track. Their Doggie Claws barleywine is also pretty awesome.

I just had some Goose Island Sophie.  Quite tasty and since I am part owner of the company it makes me mighty proud.
This afternoon (Friday), I was sitting atop Old Rag drinking a Heady Topper. Life doesn't get any better than that.
Bought a four pack of Victory DirtWolf today. Havne't tried it but have high hopes. Anybody tried it?

Shard four beers at Smoke and Barrel last night.

Ballast Point Victory at Sea…one of my very favorite porter/stouts

Triple Digit Chickow…never heard of these guys before, but i was quite impressed. An imperial brown ale that tasted like liquid nutella (had hazlenut in it)

Heavy Seas Cabernet Aged Barleywine (the name is too long for me to remember)…interesting and different, glad i tried it probably won't driink it again

New Belgium Le Teroir…hybrid of an IPA and a sour….very highly rated, I'd rate it good but not great. Another interesting one.

Old Rag is a cool hike.  But the furlough is over…why aren't you back at work.
Bluejacket to open on Tuesday 10/29

"What beers will Bluejacket debut with? Among them: Forbidden Planet, a dry-hopped kolsch made with Galaxy hops; the Scarecrow, a hoppy saison; the Imposter, a session rye IPA; Tooth & Nail, an imperial IPA; Figure 8, a wee heavy made with local figs and modeled after pastry chef Tiffany MacIsaac's figgy toffee pudding; and James & the Giant, a Belgian strong blonde ale with local peaches."

Tell me he doesn't look like he should be fronting one of atomic's favorite bands.

One word: Nozzle.
you can judge by just one photo?  you can judge by just one outfit?  you can judge by just one james ford post?  you can judge by just one beer thread?

I can judge from meeting the guy multiple times.
oh, well, then, well, like, nevermind.

i do admit . . . i was judging him, by that hair.  good lard.  yes, i said lard.
Shared a 4+ month old bottle of Founders Devil Dancer last night. Tasted like a nice barleywine, a lot different than the fest version. Paired it with my veggie chili and a Lagunitas Daytime IPA. Quite a contrast those two IPA's were.

atomic approved.

Thank you Texas.  My BUD stock is up 7 percent so far since I bought it earlier this month.  Keep drinking it up people.  Water is good for you.  So Beer that tastes like water must be good for you too.
Looks like I'll be hitting the Three Floyds Brewpub on December 26 again this year. Among their other less hoppy selections (but who cares about those, lol), I'll get to choose from:

Alpha King Pale Ale  A bold yet balanced American pale ale with slight caramel sweetness and aggressive
citrus hoppiness. This is our flagship beer.  68 IBU 6.66% ABV $5 Imperial Pint

Dreadnaught IPA  An Imperial India Pale Ale with an intense citrus hop aroma, a huge malt body and a crisp finish.  100 IBU 9.5% ABV $5 Half Pint

Arctic Panzer Wolf  A massive IPA that will leave your palate its hapless victim. Scorched earth is our brewery
policy.  100 IBU 9% ABV $5 Snifter

Zombie Dust  This intensely hopped and gushing undead pale ale will be one's only respite after the zombie apocalypse.
Created with our marvelous friends in the comic industry. Art by Tim Seeley.  60 IBU 6.4%  $5 Imperial Pint

Permanent Funeral The wolf inside this pale ale is trying to walk upright. This bright and aromatic beer was brewed with our friends in the band Pig Destroyer. 100 IBUs, 10. 5% ABV $5 Half Pint

War Mullet This double IPA will make you want to grow a mullet (if you don?t already have one) and go to war (if your?re not already). 8.1 % ABV. $5 Snifter

Duvel acquires Boulevard. Sorry, I'm two weeks behind on the news.

Are they going to ruin Boulevard the way AB-InBev has ruined Goose Island (they haven't)?

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/18/business/belgian-brewery-buys-boulevard-a-us-craft-beer-maker.html?_r=0

duvel acquired Ommegang and haven't ruined them, so i'd say "probably no".

and i'm not sure that In-Bev ruined GI.  matilda and sofie taste just as good to me and GI is coming up with some great one-offs and seasonals.  a beer distributor that i spoke to at CBC was of the opinion that GI is now better than pre-acquisition: after the buy-out, the head brewers left but all the assistant brewers that were instantly promoted were highly motivated to prove themselves… hence the burst of creativity.
1) finally got to try The Truth - and i really liked it.  it not quite on the level of Heady/Pliny/Zombie/etc but it's an excellent hop-bomb.  if Flying Dog makes this a regular offering it will be my go-to.

2) also picked up a sixer of duClaw's Sweet Baby Jesus: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1924/88269. ; tried one last night and wasn't impressed.  the taste was ok but the aroma was off-putting.  i'll give it another chance tonight, maybe that was a bad bottle.
