based solely on the beers' names, i'm not impressed.  Pocahoptas?  and "Slingshot" has been used a million times…

My friends in the area who frequent the Richmond-area craft breweries and stand in line for special releases hold this one in extremely low regard.

Supposedly if you want a (currently operable) RVA-area brewery to check out aside from Hardywood, which I assume you all know, Lickinghole Creek is what the beer aficionados are raving about. (Strangeways and Ardent are worth checking out too.)

I haven't been to Lickinghole Creek or tasted any of their beers, but I can say that they are great….just kidding. I'm hoping to make a trek there at some point, maybe this fall.

I hadn't heard anything about the COTU place, just though the Chris Ray connection was slightly interesting. Seems like the brewery itself may join the long list of not worth bothering with….
had a few  Lickinghole Creek's and they were decent at Copperwood Tavern

heh, i didn't  know that DC beer week will be Aug. 9-15 (http://dcbeerweek.net/).  as it turns out, i'll be a bachelor that week so i might hit up a few events, and possibly even this Brewhaha thing.  has anyone ever been?  do the breweries just serve up their regular stuff?

It seems like I'm *ALWAYS* out of town during DC Beer Week. But i'll be in Portland for three nights, Seattle for four, and in a tent in the backcountry for two. Somehow, I think my beer needs will be well served.

I have a program you might be interested in. It has all these steps. 12 of them, I think.

Step one, out the door
Step two, get in car
Step Three, drive to Whole Foods
Step Four, purchase beer
Step Five, drive home
Step Six, Open beer
Step Seven, Drink Beer

I forget the other five
AB-InBev, we love you. Thanks for all that you do.

Thanks so much for doing away with BCBS four packs and replacing them with 16.9 ounce single bottles, with a $9.99 suggested retail. I'm sure most local retailers won't sell it at that price.

dude.  you can't handle 12oz of 6% beer.  what the hell are you going to do with 17 oz of 13-14%?!?  that thing will last you a month.
he splits the bottle with his wife and his three adopted kids, from Cambodia.  he is starting an in-bathroom brewery, called angkor pot.

but instead of one can it should say a 6 pack
I had a Bell's Hopsolution and Founder's Double Trouble last night and thought both tasted like Pure Michigan.
