Miller High Life

is miller high life a lite beer?

well I will have to go back to it then

it sure as hell ain't a heavy beer.

yes yes…chuckle chuckle…

how about yuengling?

whats the heavyosity on that one?

the heavyosity is disgusting on that one.

miller high life has 143 calories but yuengling only 128

I guess its hard to do "better" than 128

but yuengling tastes awful. You should just drink Guinness.

hold on let me check my handy dandy chart….i'll be back in a sec
by golly you're right.. only 126..

still..what about all those carbs…i dunno

i'm sitting on a couple great bottles i can't wait to open, including 2013 backwoods (thanks sweetcell!), BA narwhal, abyss, BA speedway, and 2013 kentucky dark star.

please let me know how the BA'ed narwhal is.  i almost picked up a bottle today, but at $22 (including tax) i just couldn't justify it.  i can almost get two Unibroue 17 Grande Reserve at that price.

and THANK YOU for the KDS… it's on my radar for near-term consumption.  need to pare down that cellar.

BA narwhal was boring… fairly subtle. like regular narwhal better.  $22 is way too much for what it is.
Enjoyed this very much last night

the beer list a Lyon hall is impressive
Duvel Single and Allagash Curieux on draft - nice.

meh.  if they keep their hands off of the beer, like they generally have done at Goose Island, this might be OK.  not the best, but OK.
Double and triple IPA festival in the Bay Area on February 7; it is also one of the easier ways to get Pliny the Younger.
in more uplifting new, i have a new favorite beer: Angel's Share, by Lost Abbey.  thick, deep malt, slightly sweet, just perfect amount of bourbon, looooong aftertaste…. amazing all around.

it's not about the beer, there's plenty quality beer and options around whether elysian sells out or not.

it's about killing local beer culture (elysian is arguably the biggest influence in this community).  this BA post sums it up well: http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/anheuser-busch-bud-to-acquire-seattle-based-elysian-brewing-company.251035/page-3#post-3211668

i stopped buying BCBS this year.  i buy budweiser from AB-IB because it's cheap and tasty and honestly the american lager market isn't one i care about. but AB-IB buying up craft breweries is them buying up market space, shelf space in stores, taps at the bars, etc.. it's making it harder for craft breweries to compete.

after RR pulled out of WA area, seattle breweries decided to make their own triple IPA festival of sorts.  this year, 31 breweries made a triple IPA.  the dates coincide with pliny the younger release  :P
Nugget Nectar hitting DC today, I hope to find some cans.
