so i'm a day late asking this, but did anyone consume anything fun during The Big Game on sunday?
i had:
- a 2019 Backwoods Bastard
- a 2020 Cyclops (a barrel-aged barleywine from Elysian)
- my first bottle of a homebrewed sour aged on peaches - one of the best sours i've made in a while even dad-in-law liked it.
- a bunch of my Strata/Lemon Drop IPA (a little too much, according to the missus…)
i had some BCBS and a few others chilling in the fridge, but (thankfully) they remained there.
Sounds delish. I had half a can of Foam's Distopian Dream Girl. The beer was much dreamier than the game.

Wrong thread, but you don't consider Other Half's IPA's to be bitter?
Not the ones I like…
Curious, which ones do you guys recommend
when I went there…25-30 different options available
and Dominion Beer seems to be getting them, but very limited supply
I am certain the ones you list will not be available, because that seems to be the way people list the beer they like

Other Half is really not that "rare." Unless it's some chocolate covered peanut marshmallow almond butter pecan stout, any can is easily accessible.
Personally, I like any of their lower ABV single hop beers… Usually falling into the 6 to 8% mark… nothing with lactose/dream/cream in the name. Can't go wrong with the "small" series or the "all" series and then pick the ones hopped with what you like… I prefer Citra, Nelson, Riwaka, Galaxy, and MOsaic.

…haven't evolved enough to dial into the hops I prefer, but I'm getting there
I drove the last time and I was trying to find some low abv beers and 6% was the bottom on a 16 oz
so hard to have more than 2 at that rate

My favorite IPA's these days are also in the 6-8% range, and favorite hops are Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy, when in season. I must admit, I do like the lactose/oat cream stuff, though not necessarily any more than without.
Downtown Crown gets Other Half beers from all three Other Half locations. Dominion only gets Other Half beers from the DC location. Some Beer Advocate people report that the DC brewery doesn't have things as dialed in yet as the other two do. I haven't had any of the DC IPA's so can't report (did have a DC Other Half Crunchee/ Burley Oak JREAM hybrid fruit beer collaboration that was very good.)

Good advice here. DDH All Citra Everything is particularly good.

It should be noted that the aforementioned beer, at 8.5%, is above the 6-8 range. However, the Small Citra Everything and DDH Small Citra Everything clock on at 6.5%.
Anybody have an knowledge on the difference between the OH DDH beers and their HDHC beers?
HDHC is an acronym to denote this combo and it stands for High Density Hop Charge due to the extra high hopping rate. We are going for the biggest baddest aromatics we can and it represents around 15 lbs/bbl but with our combo of hop products its as smooth as ever.

and speaking of Other Half DC beers I recently tried one called Bright Edges
A disgusting oniony hot mess of a beer and an instant drain pour
