The shipment to that store had been delayed. They got ten four packs. So ten lucky people. By the time my wife got there and got one at 10am, a number of them had already been sold. By the time I got there at 5:15pm, they were long gone. The end.
Hint: Look for a beer store that doesn't have an online presence. Look for a beer store in a more blue collar suburban area, where asshole beer snobs tend not to live or even care to venture.

Maybe you're right and i just shouldn't have said anything. My bad. Apologies, if necessary.

Beer secrets. LOLZ.
childish people running around looking for these "rare, hard to find beers" and even more childish people boasting about their "secret locations" that you can't know about.
That's fine you have your secret place. But it's yours, and you intend to keep it that way. So why tell anyone that it exists in the first place?

personally, i'd rather be told that it's out there somewhere than not know about it at all. then it boils down to how much effort i'm willing to put into finding the source. luckily i didn't have time to work on this today, and it's now too late, because based on ford's description i wouldn't have found it anyways.

The key difference is you told me AFTER you visited the store and bought all that you wanted, whereas when I was posting earlier, I had not yet been to the store. Just sayin. ;)

I told you where I found a second batch of Hopslam after you asked me. Just sayin'…
In other words, check your PMs

Glad you're enjoying a Hopslam!
And i'm eating Lucky Charms as my KBS warms down to appropriate temperature. :D
Note to self: the bottle stopper doesn't work so well on 12 oz bottles. A KBS bottle on its second day open loses some zing.

In the past month, I've drank a 2011 KBS and a 2012 KBS and really didn't notice too much of a difference. I don't plan on having any of my 2011 stock left this time next year though.
Here are some other opinions:

Unlike our good friend James Ford, I'm willing to let my fellow boardies know that I just picked up two four packs of KBS right here.
http://wagnersliquor.com/They had a few cases as of noon.

Thanks Yada…but can you send me a location that's within walking distance of my office in Old Town Alexandria? I'd really appreciate it!
;D

Let me guess. $30/four pack plus DC tax rate?

a fringe benefit of getting away from all-extract brewing. the missus is an amazing bread baker but we have yet to incorporate the used grains into anything. there are also recipes that can use beer yeast, including harvested (post-fermentation) yeast - hit up the googles for "barm bread".
i found a recipe for dog treats using spent grain. just got myself a puppy last week, so i now have someone to bake them for ;D
