Ok, I'll bite: I don't know, when does narwhal bacon?
Midnight, generally.

Looked this up and now going to track this down
I been drinking this Flying Dog double IPA with a 11.5%abv….it feels like I'm doing shots or something.
cuvee rene = da (lemon) bomb.  my in-laws, who had never had a sour beer before this one, loved CR upon first sip.

Whole Foods in foggy bottom has it right now.  i would look at other WFs.  pretty sure Rodmans has it too.

i'm a big fan of this beer.  in fact i'll be drinking a 2011 tomorrow night ;D
Friends,

Go out and get yourself a six pack of Jailbreak Brewing's Big Punisher DIPA. Ignore the beer nerd stats on BA and give this a taste. Imma go out on a limb and say it's the best DIPA in the DC/MD/VA area. Nicely priced and brewed in Laurel, Md.

Got some of this for a get together recently and was impressed.  I wouldn't go so far as to say best DIPA in the area, but it was a tasty brew.  Tasted like more of a single IPA to me personally, which is just fine.

My favorite DIPA of the moment is the Flying Dog Galaxy single hop DIPA.

Haven't had that one…
had some neat midnight sun brews this past weekend.  2013 berserker, and termination dust, a "belgian" barleywine.  termination dust was confusing, at best, but the berserker was excellent.  the bar had 2013 arctic devil and barfly on draft, but i didn't try them because it was Sunday evening and i wasn't trying to get wasted.
speaking of alaska and barleywine and getting wasted, looks like anchorage brewed 700 cases worth of "a deal with the devil" this year.  it's bound to be north of $30 for a 750ml, but it's 18% and it's damn near the smoothest barleywine i've ever had.  i imagine it shows up in DC, but if not, do what you can to get your hands on two bottles, one to drink immediately, and one to age.
speaking of Anchorage, i recently acquired their "The Tide and Its Takers" brett'ed triple.  giving a little time for the bugs to do their thing, but looking forward to enjoying it.  haven't had anything bad from Anchorage yet.

goose island's annual bourbon county stout is out. if you see it, drink it.

What's a fair price for BCBS?

wow. i live in chicago, so i'm a bit spoiled… but people started lining up at like 6p on thanksgiving to buy it and the variants. the barleywine is just ok imo.

they also upped the distribution to larger chains and cut out a lot of the smaller businesses around here so it is even kinda difficult to procure in the city.

neat, haven't seen that one.

have you had their bitter monk? belgian IPA on brett.  it's really fucking incredible.
in case anyone was looking for an excuse to raid their cellar: this saturday - 12/13/14 - has been unofficially labeled "Vertical Day".  break out those mutli-year flights!

i was considering doing a '12/'13/'14 vertical of Parabola, then i realized that unless i recruit help i'm not going to survive it.  might need dig through the collection for something that comes in lower ABV and smaller bottles ;D

got that Anchorage via a trade with someone in SF.  will keep my eyes open for the bitter monk.  IPA + belgian + brett sounds like an iffy combo but if anyone can pull it off, it'll be anchorage.

yup, been around since black friday.  getting regular was surprisingly easy.  the variants (barleywine, coffee, vanilla, etc) were impossible to find unless you stood in line early on black friday.

some people love it fresh but i'm more in the "sit on it" camp.  BCBS is too hot when fresh, IMO.  in a year or two it turns into something magical.
I think she meant just drink it right in the store.  Like a download, pay what you want, or not. Just say, radio head to the cashier.
