The Beer Thread

since I will be attending a show in the illusionary city of DC, and staying in a hotel so to get real sloppy intoxicated . . . I will bring the following bottles of beer to drink, and not spend the highway robbery prices of drinking at a bar or restaurant:

1.  Deschutes  Cultivateur Provision Saison

2.  South Street  Tounge Dropper  Sour Double IPA

3.  Wicked Weed  Recurrant

4.  Wicked Weed  Genesis  Blond Sour

of the bottles I got at the beach, the WW Black Angel was fucking incredible, the CS Space Cake is delightful as I type this and sip at the same time, and the HB Funky Jew I have not had, but I already put in the fridge, so I will not bring it tomorrow.

Some more nice choices!

I got a 32 oz growler of WW Genesis for $8 yesterday. Compare that to $16 for a 16 oz bottle. Another Space win. That's what we're drinking today.

I was looking forward to this…but I really didn't like it at all

hard to go wrong with WW an CS
I was hoping for good things on that South Street as well. I will give my review after I drink it probably while stinking drunk.
I have had a few beers from South Street and they have all ended up being terrible.
I bet space and walky have loads of these beers in their basement.

Why, you gotta be, beer racist?
I have never watched that tv show, nor have I ever drank the beer.

Flying Dog leaves brewers association after censorship accusations.
Had the South Street Tounge Dropper tonight.  It, wasn't bad.  Not sour forward or over hot damn incredible, but still a nice drinking beer with a good flavor.

But, then again, I'm not a stuck-up fuck head like some people on this board.

Yum, been to seven of them. For atmosphere I really liked the Other Half taproom. Heady is still #1 for me.
Tomorrow, should be fun.  Hitting Pen Druid and Copper Fox Distillery for the firdt time, and then a wonderful restaurant in Rappahannock County,  VA.

Wouldn't pass up a heady, but it's fallen pretty far down on the totem pole round my parts. As the article states, it is the OG, but it's been surpassed by the new guys IMO.
Heady is still a great beer. Happy as hell that the new breweries are getting all of the attention now. Makes going to the Alchemist all the easier.

Foam might be my favorite drinking spot in the Burlington area, though. Hill Farmstead is great, too, but such a pain in the ass. And I'd much  rather have cans than growlers.

Hill Farmstead is actually doing cans…. for onsite consumption exclusively. What a tease!

Ok that just sounds stupid, but I guess it makes the lines go better
Yes, they have cans for onsite consumption.

Helps when you have to wait 2 hours for growler fills. Or when you figure 2 hours isnt worth it but you at least deserve something for the time it took to get there.
Pen Druid just blew, me away.  I am in love.
wait they have a glory hold at PD?!
