The Beer Thread

Nothing beats a bottle of this on a Sunday afternoon.

I found, this today . . . hope it is good.

it is, very good.  smooth ipa, with not a serious bite or citrus sour that turns off a lot of people to ipas.

I preferred the label design to the actual beer.
it is, a pretty cool label.

im guessing from his description plus yours it's basically an amber version of all day ipa?
bingo
this weekend i came home with a growler of grapefruit sculpin and a sixer enjoy by unfiltered.  the missus, who typically doesn't like IPAs, had 2 servings of each.  tears of pride ensued.  the end.

It's the new Founders winter seasonal IPA. At 7.0% abv, it packs more of a punch than the sessionable All Day. It's made with azacca hops, which I'm sure Sweetcell or Sidehutch could tell us more about.

Another interesting Founders development is that they're not making Double Trouble this year.
I don't know squat about azacca hops

azacca is a new kid on the block, not looking like a blockbuster say the way mosaic was.  big tropical & citrus flavors AKA meant for IPAs.

i was given a 1 oz sample, smelled really nice out of the bag.  i dry-hopped a sour with it along with an ounce of motueka.  with everything going on in that beer it's impossible to pick out what the azacca is contributing specifically but it's a damn fine beer ;D
I think it, the hops, are from Australia?  I like, it.
I like the new troegs bottle paper wrappers.  sophisto.  drinking, a perpetual ipa, right now.

There was a big debate on Beer Advocate forums about those labels. It seemed a lot of people thought they were aiming for the twee hipster market.

I'm not sure how i feel about them. Their old labels were sort of boring anyway.
the yuengling label is pretty cool.. an eagle flying in the air holding a barrell of the best beer this side of arlington …
