aren't you all helpful.  thank you.  I bet all the beer ladies, throw themselves, at you.

Victory Kirsch Gose seasonal is just being released. That's another good intro sour-sh beer that should be widely available.

try Duchesse De Bourgogne (if you can get it where you are) and don't look back.

all the beer ladies…that term doesn't exist
(I know that's sexist, but I saw more women at punk shows in the 80s than you do at a beer event/brewery)

Just because you can't get your wife to set foot in a brewery doesn't mean all women hate beer.

How pissed is Space going to be when his mom's scores a case of this

And my mom is officially a beer mule. $23.99+tax+deposit for a four pack. Could also ask my brother too, but maybe that would be greedy and he's busy with a job and shit.

Blessings to you and your family for spending such a chunk of $$$ on this endeavor!

And I was greedy after all. They still had four packs left on the second day and it was my brother's day off, and his plans included driving right by the shop anyway…so what the hell, why not.

Speaking of chunks of $$$, went to Aslin again Saturday. With apologies to Ocelot, I think they're officially making the best IPA's in the DMV. Maybe even all of VA, though An Bui may have something to say in the matter.

And speaking of VA IPA's…it's long gone from stores now, but the Champion Fruit Basket DIPA from Charlottesville was pretty damn good. Sad I only bought a single.

That's my weekend beer roundup. Back to drinking six ounces a night on weeknights.

she's been to a few…but embarrassingly asks what wine they have

Ouch! Maybe you could order her a sour and tell her it's a new variety of wine.

My wife was into hoppy beers long before I was even into beer. Exception to the rule it seems. But as Hutch established long ago, she's the one who wears the pants in the relationship.
sidehutch, did you bring home any bottles of that j wakefield dfpf?

so what do you wear…a pantsuit?
I know you are a hillary fan

You'll have to ask Hutch what i wear, he's the one who declared it. Today I'm wearing a pair of gray (I think) Gap khakis. Not my nicest pants, but I'm carrying a little extra (keeping it on topic, beer) weight these days and these are one of my pairs of fat pants.

I'm definitely not a Hillary fan. More like a "hold my nose and pull the lever for Hillary" person, as I find Bernie too liberal and the entire Republican party too conservative.

eh, la duchesse can be hit or miss.  i've had a few with diacetyl (buttery flavor) but most are fine.  but even when the beer is what it's supposed to be, i don't find it that interesting.  it's got a strong acetic character (think vinegar) that the beer attempts to balance with some sweetness, and not much else.  sort of a one-trick pony.  if you're in to that particular trick then it's awesome, but i like sours with more complexity (like brett characteristics which this beer seems to lack).

i mean, give it a try, but in case it isn't your thing don't cast all other sours aside.
the one that turned me on to sours was "monks cafe"
great flemish sour that got me hooked on da funk
