The Beer Thread

true…but some pretty deceptive practices by the owners as well
cutting pay from 3yr employees sound pretty shitty too
Especially since Trillium is probably making good money (compared to thousands of other breweries)
but whatdoIknow
Not like the average beer drinker will read or care about this news…highly doubt it will impact sales
They might have to start doing the growlers off the regular taps and stop the Mexican beer

Here was the only Trillium news I found
For the past 39 years, Trillium has been a destination for the latest designs in women’s fashions, owner Sima Blue is closing the boutique on Dec. 22.
I just don’t know enough to say more
i realize this is outta the way for most folks, but in case you ever find yourself in Frederick and need a pint you should definitely check out the town's newest brewery, Idiom Brewing Co.  thtey just opened last week.  the founder is a homebrewer that consistently made excellent beers.  the space looks really nice.

founders 2019 release calendar:

blushing monk, imp stout, at least 3 TBD's… also, all day ipa will be released in bottle 12-packs. weeeeee.
founders…who drinks that beer anymore ;)

was in fresh market this week and they had four cases of Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout just sitting out collecting dust
I remember just year ago (maybe two) all I could get was the Barleywine, other stuff sold out super quick

It would be nice to see CBS go to a four pack (as it is in Canada) at a price similar to KBS, as it appears to be a $25-$30 shelf turd in bomber format this year.

agree with this….I just don't want to drop $30 on a bomber
Good to see Imperial Stout returning. And Backwoods Bastard, Breakfast Stout, and KBS staying intact.

The rest of the lineup…don't care.
In other news, Sierra Nevada Celebration, still just $8.99 a six pack. Pretty tempting compared to all those $20 Aslin/Veil/fill in your local brewery name here four packs.

Where are the CBS shelf turds hiding? Have yet to see one.

Drank last year's purchase on turkey day.

There's a bunch of them at Fair Lakes WF, P Street WF, H Street WF, and Craft Beer Cellar….off of the top of my head from recent observation, though it's possible I could be pulling a Broken Social Scene on  one or two of those.
How much of your life is spent in Whole Foods, dude?
Stone,

Can't recall if you live in MoCo or DC, but essentially any reputable beer store in DC has bottles collecting dust. I was just in Rodmans a few days ago and they had at least 5 cases sitting there for $29.99 a bottle.

Pass.
Good Lord. $29.99 is pretty bad.

Admittedly, I haven't been looking hard for it. Surprised it hasn't completely disappeared, though.
in case you need another data point: the Total Wine that i occasionally drop in to (because it's next to my Whole Foods) has at least 2 cases turding up their shelves.  $26.99 each, no limit, have been there for weeks now.

last year i raced to this location on a saturday to be there at opening, to ensure i got a bottle.  i expected to see lines at the door, instead i just got surprised looks when i waltzed in.  got my bottle no problem.  i was the only one there buying it.  a month later, they still had a bunch on the shelf.

CBS has totally jumped the shark.  for years this beer was the white whale i chased.  and now it's a friggen WAY overpriced sunfish that no one wants.  how many more fish metaphors can i fit in this floundering paragraph?

soo barren here I look forward to reading dots now
About to go to 3 Floyds for dinner with my Trump voting in-laws and wondering how much Zombie Dust I should bring home. I know it's not the prize it once was, but $12+no tax for a sixer is pretty sweet compared to Aslin and Veil can prices. Hoping to also come across Bodhi on the drive home tomorrow, $10 per four pack is a pretty sweet price point for that one.

An even sweeter price point is High Life, Rolling Rock, and Peroni.
