New laws for VA alcohol
http://wtvr.com/2017/06/29/the-new-va-abc-laws-taking-effect-july-1/simplified rules for Virginia distilleries at festivals and delivery of closed containers of alcohol to customer’s vehicles
I think Julian will like this one
HB 1842: This law raises the maximum proof of neutral grain spirits that may be sold through Virginia ABC retail stores without a permit. The previous limit was 101 proof. The new limit is 151 proof.this is a good one…sell wine to fund-raise! (Why not beer too?)
HB 1694: will allow nonprofit organizations with banquet licenses to sell closed containers of wine to those 21 or older as part of any fundraising activity.Don't offer your airbnb guests a beer tho..
SB 1578: This law requires individuals operating short-term rentals (Airbnb) who wish to offer alcoholic beverages to their guests to obtain a bed and breakfast license.

Because hipsters are not philanthropists.

I am at, the beach. In lower NC. Found a nice, small beer shoppe. Only bought 3 bottles, because that was all I needed.
1. Wicked Weed. Black Angel
2. Clown Shoes. Space Cake
3. He'Brew. Funky Jewbelation

excellent choices, minus the politics associated with WW… but i'd drink any one of those (and likely all three).

it will always have a place in my heart as one of the first craft beer bars in DC, as having a great tap selection, and i could mainline their buffalo burger (rare, with blue cheese). has always been my pre-gaming spot before a show/game at Verizon.

there is no denying that family/business were trailblazers for craft beer in the area, but they've been a dinosaur for close to a decade at this point. And that food at RFD… my god that food.

Loved the Brickskeller… Especially loved drinking about 6 of these guys below, eating an order of pierogies, and walking out smelling like I smoked a pack of marbie reds.

I loved the Brickskeller…never was too excited about RFD
Got to meet Michael Jackson twice there (not the gloved one…the beer one)
the tasting events really got me into craft beer, they were soo much fun
the barleywine one was always a blast as everyone was tanked at the end of it
Bert Grant from Yakima Brewing & Malting Co was always a hoot too
For a little while I had ambition to try all the 100 beers
now 100 is a small list, but at the time it was insane

Brickskeller was great after you made your fifth choice from the beer menu since they were always out of stock from your first four selections.
