We had a large bomber of Victory Wild Devil last night for Halloween. It was very good though perhaps not great. Basically Hop Devil with brett added. It was also 2.5 years old. I purchased it on clearance at Tenuta's in Kenosha this summer for $3.99 for 26 oz bottle. I wish I had bought a case of it at that price. Oh well.

Doesn't seem very thrifty to invest in a two year old beer that's already only good vs. great. Also, beer bible has pretty low ratings!

Hindsight is 20/20. I bought only one because:
a. I was buying a shitload of New Glarus beer to bring home so space limitations
b. Though it's referred to as a "wild ale", it has an IPA base no my naiive guess was that it would have lost something. How much I would not have been able to say since I didn't have it fresh
c. I wasn't aware of the ratings of the beer, so was just going on brewery reputation alone. Hence, worth a try but wasn't going to risk getting a bunch. It does have a 71st percentile on ratebeer for wild ales, which is a good score.
That said, I'll take a "very good" $4 bomber (or $2 single) six nights a week, and save the "excellent" $20+ bomber for the seventh.

Beyond not spending more than we take in, we don't do budgets at our house. I honestly have no idea how much I spend on beer. Though it's probably more than I spend on clothing, movies, music, and concerts combined.

I'd say most likely yes, can't see any of that going out to distro. You'll also probably need to stand in line with a bunch of neckbeards who will arrive a few hours early.

I finally found a pumpkin beer I loved:
Pumpkin Smash | Cascade Brewing / Raccoon Lodge & Brewpub
though technically it's a wild ale
On draft at P Street Whole Foods
Pro tip: Order it as part of the $5 flight, not the $16/10 oz full pour.

I've visited Owen's Ordinary twice now, couldn't be more disappointed. Beer list is definitely good to great for MoCo, but as expected like any "high end" restaurants in MoCo, the service is just atrocious.
First visit I popped by myself in as I was doing daddy duties at Target and Buy Buy Baby and just had a few pours. They requested I order the beer by number vs. the name and two of my sour style beers showed up with little to no carb (before Space tries to argue with me here, yes, i know some sours have little to no carb but these were completely flat). The the third beer was an entire pour of foam that he promised me was four ounces once it settled.
Second visit was with my partner last weekend and we ended up getting half of our bill comped it was so bad. Nearly 15 minutes to get drinks, messed up beer orders, steak that still had a heart beat (sent back and recooked still coming out bloody), etc. It's backed by too much money to fail, but what a disaster. I'm sure the kinks will work out at some point.

Interesting!….. Was that Saturday night? I overheard someone a couple tables away (2 dudes) complaining to the manager about their steak coming out too rare TWICE. My complaint was that our server was not well informed on the draft beer menu selections. Not only what the particular beer was like but whether it was even available, many of which were not. I actually filled out the comments card after the meal to reflect my concern.
