That's a damn good beer. Wish i hadn't passed on getting a bottle when it was out.
Don't know if it's been mentioned, but the Flying Dog Cold Press Coffee Porter is damn delicious. It's a brewhouse rarity, but they have some at Perfect Pour in Columbia.
Did I tell you I have my own beer?…largest beer plant on the East Coast….

I agree, great beer… After many years, I finally made a trip up to the brewery earlier this year.

As a 21+ brewery, that's one that I will never visit, nor will I buy their products.

seems like an odd condition in that, it makes and serves alcohol. A substance which you legally need to be 21 to consume.
and brewery age limits and your purchasing that beer in whole foods seems an odd criteria too?
but let's not rain on space's parade

I'm actually happy to share a beer with a Muslim. It's their fucked up religion that would seemingly prevent that from happening, not me. ;)
hey I'm just a blowhard asshole.. how would I know that??
the Whole Foods in Foggy Bottom has been, until recently, my main beer buying destination. this past summer they lost their beer buyer (now working at P Street) and the selection of beer has suffered. it's not horrible, but is no longer spectacular. draft options just hasn't been as good. my guy isn't there anymore to hold bottles for me, give me advance notice when the good stuff is coming in, etc. while shopping there today i asked the shelf-stocker (new beer guy?) if they had received Sucaba, fully expecting him to tell me that it came and went in under an hour 2 weeks ago. instead i walked outta there with their last bottle. yeay me.
recently tried the sam adams nitro coffee stout in a can. meh. it's fine but just doesn't have much going on. maybe it's because i'm used to stouts with coffee being imperial, this one clocks in at "only" 5.8%.

My server this week in Texas…great guy, extremely knowledgeable about all things beer. Goes by the name "hutch".

great beer ad from 1975 (guess this could have gone in the nerd thread too)

god, to find a photoshopped kirk in the place of dennis hopper, screaming, Heineken . . . fuck that shit.
Another one bites the dust. At least it's not AB-Inbev.

Other than their very inconsistent Jai Alai offering, I can't say I liked many more of their beverages. Won't be missed!

Are you saying Jai Alai is inconsistent in quality, or in availability? I can agree with the former. When it's super fresh and a good batch, it's world class. When it's not, it's not. The latter issue seems to have been remedied already.
Cigar City makes some damn good beer, but none of it (other than Jai Alai, when it's a good batch) makes it up here. Maybe this will allow us to see more of their good stuff, and maybe bring some consistency to Jai Alai.

When it's not, it's not. Even when drinking it in Florida.
