Veil Brewing one year anniversary party tickets procured.

Should be a solid day of Mekong >>> Veil boozin'.

Also, coincidentally had a party in Ashburn on a weekend where Aslin cans were plentiful. I was able to get the max allotment of 3 of 4 cans with zero lines. Hoping this becomes the norm for Aslin.

I went Saturday at 2 and got the max on Orange Starfish and Mind the Hop. Skipped Stellar Parallex (I have sooo much IPA's at home right now!), though in retrospect wish I had grabbed it.

I think I read that the SAturday can release was a one time thing because their schedule had been pushed back due to the storm; that Thursday will remain can release day.

Had a can of Orange Starfish last night, and I have to say I preferred it to the Veil, Other Half, and Three's cans we have been drinking the last couple of months, even when the latter were fresh. It's only true rival (among those I've procured from the source recently) is the Singlecut Softly Spoken Magic Spells I brought home from the brewery.

Ehh… that's unfortunate.

But yeah, when in doubt always max out. I also hook up friends or just trade the extras. I have a box of Tree House cans coming thanks to these and in my opinion, those beers are light years ahead of Aslin.

The only one of the three that really blew me away was the the "Mind the Hop." I still find i prefer Veil way more than Aslin. Quality control, appearance, and alcohol burn tend to be a common theme at Aslin.

Additionally, drank a new Ocelot IPA side by side with the Aslin beers and it tasted like garbage compared to Aslin.

New brewery in Alexandria with some old roots

not sure why it says 2012….since it really opened it's doors in 2017?

Methinks Yada is pulling your leg. I don't recall having such a conversation. But my memory has been proven wrong before…

Yes, it was a joke… But I bet it's Cap City Brewing caliber.

I'm a huuuuuuge fan of Rolling Rock and High Life pony bottles… however, I haven't been able to find the High Life ones in quite some time.
I made pasta with pesto last night and learned that Delirium Tremens pairs very well with it. Tonight, it's a pita pizza with either a Veil DIPA or a homebrew amber ale (I know, tough choice there.). Tomorrow, tostadas with some kind of IPA, or the homebrew. And a Founders Frootwood (root beer for the kid) float for dessert.
Enjoy By 4/20 is tasting nice and dank.  not the absolute best of the series but a damn solid offering.  unfortunately $18/sixer limits my ability to justify picking up another.  well, ok, fine, maybe just one more… it was 6 days old  - gotta love having that richmond brewery nearby.

had the frootwood over the weekend.  maybe a float is the way to go, because on its own it's unimpressive IMO.  way too much cherry, way too little of everything else (including beer flavor).

i love a lot of things about Maryland, and MoCo, but damn if their beer laws aren't idiotic.

in an attempt to pull MD into the 21st century of beer laws, all MD residents should - nay, MUST - call their state senators to voice opposition to HB 1283.  it's fast, it's easy, and damn this bill needs to die a quick death (or at least be rewritten…):

House Bill 1283 Will Be Devastating for Maryland Brewers, and the Senate Needs to Fix It

From FeBREWary to March Madness: House passes bill that?s one step forward, two steps back for local beer

please, MD'ers, make a call: http://mdelect.net/ <– find your senator.  clock is ticking, do it NOW.

I bought the Frootwood right when it came out. Choice between a four pack and a bomber, I went with the four pack. Had one and my reaction was similar to yours. Wishing I had waited, a few weeks later my Whole Foods started splitting up the four packs and selling as singles…one 12 oz would have been enough for me.

Has anybody had the Enjoy After and if so, how good is it? I have the first one they made, and it's well after the After date, so I guess I should crack it in the not too distant future.

i've had it and i thought it was really good.  i suspect you'll like it.  not much point in aging for years, some strains of brett can get really phenolic (spicy) with extended aging.
