The Beer Thread

we haven't specified this yet, but yes - we're only talking about places that accept children.  if a venue has a "no children allowed", "must be over 21", etc. policy then obviously kids don't belong.  should someone show up to that sort of a place with kids in tow, then indignation is an understandable response.  was is this specific situation that got your drawers in a know, walkies?

You're just noticing now that walky is the grumpiest old bastard ever?
He is grumpy sometimes and elated/friendly at others…

Sounds like alcoholism

Seems like a good possibility… or a sam adams lager if he's feeling wacky.

Corona.

apparently he's more of a PBR guy?

I wonder if stories like this, and the different stories of chasing Cruz, Sanders, Nielsen, etc. out of restaurants will end up helping or hurting the Democratic cause come next month.
i don't see this "kegger protest" as doing much either way.

but chasing GOP'ers out of restaurants hurts the Dems, IMO.  the lack of civility upsets people, gets 'em fired up.  and those confrontations are hollow victories for the left… at best, you interrupted their dinner?  woopee.  you let them know you disagree with them?  you think they didn't already know that?  in my view, they're firing up the right with nothing to show for it.
Well that’s not the point is it?

The point is that is what people do when they feel government is completely broken and non responsive
They're all funded by George Soros.
In the end Kavanaugh is being confirmed

Not a huge shock

Cloudburst won a medal at GABF, and their head brewer wore a "fuck AB-INBev" shirt on stage while accepting his prize.

TL; DR - 2,500 miles later and this stack of beer*

TL:

Dancing Gnome - Great brewery, snagged some cans, love hitting up this spot

Brew Gentlemen - Great brewery, food trucks, growlers only, have been there a bunch, and had too much other beer to hunt down

Equilibrium - Nothing to speak of other than the beer which was actually the best hops of the entire week. Raining Belma is what Treehouse used to taste like, just perfection.

Shitty town, shitty parking lot, no way to sample their beer, a few giant pear shaped dudes and myself waiting for beer. Phish playing on the blue tooth speaker. An ongoing feud with the bar literally connected to the brewery keeps them from serving there, which is just ridiculous.

Hudson Valley Brewing - Overall the best beer of the trip, definitely making the most unique beer that I have had access to in recent months. Everything just works. Loaded up on a bunch of cans, less than 10 people hanging in the brewery all evening, hand about 8 tasters. For the first time in weeks cans lasted through the week so I was lucky to get a good amount.

Fiddlehead - I was there less than 10 mins to just grab cans. Under contstruction, no one there, I'm actually surprised they're still surviving in the beer nirvana up there.

Foam - Coolest and funnest brewery of the trip, however, the beer in my opinion was a bit of a let down. All of the haze tasted the same and really tasted pretty green/hot. Killer tunes and great vibe right on lake Champlain. Playlist included Can, Talking Heads, Miles, Phish, Hendrix, Beastie Boys, etc. I had very high hopes, but all in all, I think I'm hazed out.

Alchemist - I had to go for old time's sack, but Heady just ain't what it used to be for me. Malty, bitter, etc… Crazy that a few years ago this was the DIPA that everyone died for. Beautiful new brewery, free samples of Crusher, Focal, and Heady. No music, and the average age was 55+. We stuck around for about 20 mins and grabbed some beers to go.

*All beer was kept at 85 degrees in a van
I see some Vinyl in the back there…

I can't seem to figure out the math of time and finances AND kids to live your beer lifestyle

I could say the same about your show going life-style… At any rate, to answer a few parts of your question… that beer isn't even close to all mine, split by roughly 8ish people. I probably spent $150 max.

We were on a week long FAMILY vacation in Lake Placid/Burlington that I drove to and from.

now that makes a lot more sense…as I priced that table at around $1000

Let's be clear, I'm more envious than judgemental on this topic
Yada bring some to the boat party!

I didn't get an invite,  but I'll be at Nick Cave so I expect an invite soon.

I'll bring the chocolate covered coffee beans too.

Have been drinking Sip of Sunshine and Super Session #7 myself since picking some up in NY after the Wineglass Marathon!
Anybody else hit up Snallygaster on Saturday? We took Metro in. We had to switch trains on the way home, and as soon as the train door opened, one person in our party flew out the door and projectile vomited on the platform several time. Another person had to pee so bad that they urinated on the platform. This was my first beer festival, I guess now I know what they are all about.

*Note: Neither of the two people mentioned were me.
