You don't need cable to get Fox.
Do you mean the Sculpin commercial? I thought it was weird. I thought they should have gotten a better looking spokesmodel. The commercial itself whas kind of boring. What did you think? Were there other commercials I missed?

Yeah… just quite interesting to all of a sudden see a Sculpin commercial when I'm typically used to tapping the Rockies or Clydesdales during those types of sport events. I thought the commercial was nothing special, there was also the very sentimental Latino veteran commercial with him and the boys crushing Modelos.
Also, when did mini commercials during the telecast start happening?

depends how do you define craft beer.
i recently listened to a great interview with the head brewer at
August Schell which was founded in 1860. they are definitely "craft" in my books.
so, what do you mean by "craft"?

Jim Koch for some reason likes to take credit, but Sam Adams was 1984 compared to Sierra Nevada in 1979.
Anchor has them both beat, 1896.

The Latino guy was the first Latino astronaut. Not sure if he's a veteran, though he very well could be.

again: how are you defining "craft"?
if we're using some nebulous "you'll know it when you see it" definition, then there isn't much point in this discussion… a man sees what he wants to see and disregards the rest.

I'm sure the for a long time in its history, Yuengling was well below the artificial production levels that some people use to define micros.

This was really good last year….spent most of my time at The Veil and Answer tables
but Penn Druid, Aslin, Commonwealth and Ocelot will likely be sampled too
Managed to fit in a
fly by in the middle of an awesome Autumn bike ride
Sorbet - Aslin and Marshmallow Eyes - Commmonwealth…OMFG!
VA is really producing some insane beers.
honorable mention to Cinnamon Streusel Hornswoggler - The Veil Brewing Co
too little time and too many good beers
easily could have had 10 others

Did my first brewery tour of Richmond last week (big mistake not to be there this weekend).
There are a ton of them down there. Am I wrong in thinking that there is a considerable drop-off in quality once you get past the top 2-3 places? For some reason I expected a little more than what I got.

Before I share my thoughts, answer this…which ones did you go to and what specifically were your impressions of each?
Also, what is going on this weekend?

Richmond definitely has a lot of places that are “places for white people to drink in public” more than “serious brewers trying to make quality beer.”
Veil, Triple Crossing, Lickinghole Creek, and Answer are all pretty legit according to my beer nerd friends.

I'm willing to answer prior to knowing… Veil and Answer are the only two making a point to hit. Others may have some high points, but nothing that touches Veil/Answer IMO.

This is the correct answer.
