I always thought mid-atlantic = MD/VA/DC/De/parts of WV and PA.
Hey Seth
Hey Seth, when can we expect the official line-up or even headliner announcement for Vfest? I'm all for being patient and I know the announcement's coming but, it was just a thought.
probably in two months

I'm willing to bet there are many people in NYC who would refuse to refer to themselves as being part of the "mid-Atlantic".
And being a resident of the mid-Atlantic, I don't have a problem with not counting NJ as part of my region.betao wrote:
I dont think The National's idea of "midatlantic" stretches very far north, because MBV is also doing APW which is upstate NJ/NYC.
New York Public Library considers NY part of the Mid-Atlantic.

Seth. I see that De La Soul has some dates booked through August. Any chance of getting them to the club?
El wrote:Agreed. A club show would be perfect for them.
Looks like Placebo is open to touring the US in October… would love to see them at the Club instead of a festival arrangement like when they toured with Linkin Park.
Did you get their new one yet? I really am digging it.
The Books are playing in NC on 8/15. how's about bringing them back? The '07 club gig was one of my favorites that year.
Hey Seth, any chance you can get the Buzzcocks? I hear they're planning on hitting the states in the fall.

i agree on the new disc. and they were very good last time i saw them at the club. lets get them back!
How about getting Mark Kozelek in early August, when he's in NY?
Any chance of a pre festival Franz Ferdinand warm up show at the club for us curmudgeons?

I second this emotion… :)
Seth,
any chance that the 9:30 Club site could start to do something like what the Metro is doing here?
http://metrochicago.com/history/
It would be pretty tremendous to see a comprehensive list of the bands over the years that were on the club's stage. Is there any record or would you have to rely on folks to recall dates? I'm one of those geeks that would love to see all this stuff preserved. THanks.

Hey Seth, if you can pull this one off then you are indeed a god! Aerosmith is on tour right now and when they wind things up, Joe Perry will be releasing a new solo CD. Rumor has it he is reforming the Joe Perry Project for a tour. If you can book them I may have to buy up all the tickets myself for me and all of my Aerosmith friends!
Hey Seth, thanks for the free Vfest. That is REALLY COOL and i'm looking forward to a hot beery day with a few bands I'll enjoy seeing!

This would be awesome. I'd love to see it.
note to self…

i think this is an excellent idea. the club has been huge in developing the DC music scene, this info should be preserved.
i must have about 100 ticket stubs from 2004-2006 so i'd be happy to provide info about shows from that period. another info source: those cool old monthly calendars on the back bar's walls that list all the bands that played the club in the 90's (i really enjoy perusing those). maybe there are more sitting around somewhere?
Hey Seth – scored my VFest tix this a.m. Just want to thank you for making it happen this year, and also for making it free. Very helpful considering I'm about to get laid off from my job. Thanks for thinking of us and being generous in these tough times.
cool
let's have some fun
