Hey Seth

I think there are about 30 people who know who these bands are this area.

uh, in which case i'd be talking to dante about booking them in the backroom.
can you get front 242 to team up with skinny puppy and the orb and play only one show at the club?  wow, just the thought of that makes me all moist.

good lord, i can't believe somebody said george t. and the destroyers.  ;)  what's next, the fabulous thunderbirds?  :D

Hey Seth,

Can you actually get My Bloody Valentine to play 9:30?  I hear they are going on a us tour in april.

Yes, please!
Somone has got to say it: you know Michael Jackson has got to add a US Tour.  He made the comment "this is my last time performing in London."  Not mentioning the US.  I would love a multi night showcase at Verizon with roughly the same ticket prices.

I'm only seeing him if Fuzzball and Hooter are going to perform with him.
how about Cursive at the club?  i thought they had a new lp forthcoming…
. . . . seth?  hey it's me, walkonby.  now i know you are a man of power, though i'm not sure who in the dc area could wield this much might.  i've asked once before, and yes this will be my last.   ;)  this time the call is stronger: there is the feeling.  it is merriweather.  the call of a venue with a nine thirty connection.  hell, hire thatguy and that other mean looking gentleman (whose name i rudely forget) as part of security for the merriweather gig . . . that would be interesting, though i'm sure a test of nerves on their part.  you know i speak of phish.  in the club on the tour of their mighty comeback.  nice, kind sir, very nice.
50 Cent just got added to the Fall Out Boy show at Merriweather.  I would go to this, but am not going to deal with pre-teens who line up 8 hours before a GA show.  Could you maybe book 50 for a late night set at the club that night?  And maybe bring Cobra Starship along with him?

Also, this has become my most requested.  Any chance for a Craig David show/ tour?
Don't Cobra Starship and FOB have essentially the same fanbase?

I guess it being a late night show would cut down on the teenieboppers but that would also result in an empty club. Fitty's stock has slipped drastically in the last three years.
hahahhahahahahahaha

Hey Seth,

Craig David will be in the US on April 14th for a show in LA.  If he's just doing a few one offs for promotion, the club is dark on Sunday April 19th….

Thanks.
I think you've asked for Craig David more times than I've asked for SY and MBV combined.
Popularity wise, she'd be a better fit for a smaller venue, like Sixth and I.

Emiliana Torrini, please.

Well, last time she was in D.C. (AFAIK), she opened for Tricky.  (This was circa 2001.)

So she could conceivably be booked as a strong opener with someone else headlining.
The last time she played the area was at Iota in 2005. I don't think her popularity has grown by leaps and bounds since then.

I guess your statement holds true technically, but Arlington is close enough, right?

I don't think the club is generally responsible for picking opening acts unless they are someone local, am I wrong?

the club DOES have a new sound system - it's less than a year old.  if a show you went to sounded bad, blame the band and their road crew, not the club's PA.  it can pump out TONS of bass.
Yeah, the sound system is just fine.

But along those lines:
Caspa/Rusko
Skream
Benga
Plastician
