Hey Seth

hey james,

you don't need to have tickets in your possession to list them on stubhub or ebay, so you can list them before they go on sale.  these people are essentially saying that they will have them.  check out the "delivery info" section -  they're not promising the tickets until three days before the show.

scalpers list tickets that haven't gone on sale yet all the time.  they prey on the insecurity of fans that they won't be able to get tix during presales/onsales.  as an added bonus, it gives message boards a reason to think venue operators are colluding with scalpers.
If you google one of those shows, and perhaps the other, you'll discover that they actually ARE on sale, via ticketfly. Just not at the box office. Leaving you with the options of paying the douchey ticketfly fees (if you're good with the google), paying the outrageous stubhub price, or crossing your fingers and waiting until it's on the actual tickefly site. Not that either of them will sell out their two night stands immediately.

ah, ok.  but now i'm unclear on the point of your original message.  is it that scalpers have figured out how to google?  seth can't control what list for sale online, whether the show is on sale or not (or something in between).  you have access to the same tickets the scalpers do.

if you're irked that you can buy tickets online (with fees) but not at the box office without fees, bringing scalpers into the discussion doesn't make much sense to me.  if you're against the ~$10 ticketfly surcharges, i don't see how you're going to pay the ~$50 (or whatever) scalper's mark-up… doesn't that make them irrelevant to this discussion?
I guess I'm just looking to be reminded what the point was in making tickets available "secretly" in advance when they're only available via ticketfly. I think comments were made to the effect that this would benefit "those in the know" or something to that effect. Why not make them available "secretly" at the box office simultaneously? Otherwise ticketly is the real beneficiary of such a policy.

I was only stating that it's odd that you can buy these tickets from scalpers already, yet you can't even buy them at the box office. I don't know that Seth has any kind of magical answer, I was merely pointing out the fact and wondering about it aloud.
what…no robyn.
i forgives
cause of scissor sisters. haha
:D

2nd! PLEASE!
Hey Seth, if by some chance Primal Scream brings the Screamadelica tour to the US, PLEASE PLEASE try to bring them back to DC.
Wow are they playing the whole thing live? That is news to me.

I'd personally rather see XTRMNTR with Kevin Shields but this still would be incredibly cool.
^ Az, you must have missed a couple of my last posts. One I think is in the Just Announced everywhere other than here and NYC thread and the other was posted today in the MP3 thread.
Yeah, missed those for sure.

I just read that Kevin is remastering this reissue of Screamadelica. Bastard is too busy working on other people's projects to finish his own, I guess.
Maybe I missed posting that but I did read that too. Suspect they got what they could from Kevin and let the others take the lead on finishing and/or pick up Kevin's slack; otherwise, you know we'd never, ever hear a note from that project.

Here's the post for the live performances

This is the one for the BBC stream of the show
* If interested in hearing this, make sure you do so within the next couple days before they take it down.

The Jayhawks, please :)
This in dc would be swell.

The '07 show was all kinds of fun.

i might actually pause the kabosh for that . . . and yes i did say i would go to a sebadoh show.

also, mister sethie.  i know they have been faltering lately, but i would really enjoy seeing those flaming lips fellows in a club setting for it is the setting that i have not witnessed them.  sir richard branson can talk about it in his new ipad only magazine.  ooohhh.  thank you, that is all.

Yes it was.  But a Bakesale centric show would be even more awesome than the Classic Tour was (at least to me, its my favorite album by them and the one that got me into them after watching them perform Give Up on 120 Minutes sometime in the mid 1990's).
hey seth.  yes i know sometimes i post silly things.  but not this.  i first fell in love with you when you got skinny puppy to play . . . but know i need you again.  i need you seth.  sethie, can you hear me?  i have fallen hard for this band.  hard.  like azag clinging to the first two dinosaur jr. albums and nkotb inside anything ween.  they are called the knife and i don't even know if they play the us.  but you must make them.  make them come to your club and show dc what music means.  and the audience can stand there with no movement and cry at the sheer awesomeness of it.  the end.

i'll have a baby and call it seth if you do.
^You hear the Fever Ray stuff yet?

you know . . . for some reason last year i bought a fever ray album to give it a chance.  i found it haunting and awesome.  i did not know it was andersson.  omg, how did i not put two and two together.  now i have found jesus and his baby sister.  thanks, brother!
The Knife played briefly in the US back in 2006. Did a couple of shows in NY and LA. If you haven't already, go check them out on YT - the production was pretty neat.

Both Karen and Olof are doing side projects right now though, so no telling when The Knife will be back.
