Seth, was chatting with Bobb Bruno from Best Coast the other night, and one thing he said when I told him I live in DC is that the 9:30 is the best club in the world. Not the country, not North America…the entire world. And I've heard this time and again independently from people. So thank you for all you do for the bands that make them want to keep coming back again and again. We are very lucky.
As an aside, I went to see the Misfits in Chicago the other night at the Portage Theater, and God it was a dump. And it reminds me that even in a major city like Chicago (which has some wonderful venues) some promoters use crummy venues and pull outrageous stunts to cut corners and make more money. I had to leave early because the sound was so horrendous and the venue was in such shabby condition. It really ruined the experience. But I appreciate how spoiled I am after years of great-sounding shows at the 9:30.

one thing I've noticed is that 930 merch travels….. saw a guy at the Replacements show at the Hollywood Palladium back in April wearing a 930 shirt….. Sean (from Luna) was photographed wearing a 930 shirt before their Seattle show earlier this month, and there was a guy working sound for Guster up in NJ last saturday wearing a 930 hoodie…..

Hopefully ole' Seth doesn't base the Deaner turn out from earlier this year on booking Ween.
Seconded, I'm hearing rumors of a spring tour being set up, hope DC is on the itinerary.

Seth, thanks for a great Deerhunter show..
Bradford Cox went on and on about the 930 and how great it was… first spiel was about how he wished Atlanta had a venue like the 930.. and that the 930 should write a book about how its done..
second spiel which went on a few minutes was about the changing neighborhood (gentrification) trying to imagine all the horrible things the 930 could become if we didn't support it..
