Hey Seth

Yeah right, that sounds like a financial winner.

merriweather would be too big, but i bet he could sell out DAR no prob. just about the right size… something like the Warner Theater might be an alternative, but that would be a tad small.
Morrissey didn't sell out DAR, and he has more mainstream name recognition than Leonard Cohen.

Did Neil Young even sell out DAR?

Morrissey didn't sell out DAR because generally speaking the DC concert goer is a musical moron.
Neil Young didn't sell out because tickets were like 150 bucks +

Oh and i'd love a DC Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin date if possible.
OK :)

Black Cat:

Thu Apr 24- SOMEONE STILL LOVES YOU BORIS YELTSIN, VIA AUDIO $10 Backstage 9:00
ha, thanks. Was that just announced? Or did i miss it somehow
I think it's been announced for a week or 2. I think I may check that one out. A friend of mine was raving about them to me, and I trust his taste.
Hmm, can't buy tickets yet on there though? Is that normal for the black cat? I've only seen 2 small shows there

Not my money.
DAR or Strathmore could sell well, esp. if you put him with a younger singer/songwriter like Rufus Wainwright.

Morrissey and Neil Young have also been here just a few times in the last 15 years.
I don't think you can buy tickets in advance for back stage shows…you just show up, first come first serve. But generally they don't sell out.
Good points. But still, I just don't think the general concert going public gives a hoot about Leonard Cohen. He's a cult classic, but most people don't know who he is. Hell, if Lou Fuckin Reed is only doing the 9:30 Club, I don't see Leonard Cohen filling Merriweather or DAR (your two original assertions).

They recently started selling advance tickets for backstage shows also.

So now that some Kraftwerk dates have been made public, how's about letting the cat out of the bag w/r/t their coming back or not?
with aphex twin being added to coachella (still enough not to get me to go back), is it time to bring up bringing him back to the 930 club again? it's probably been a week since anyone mentioned it.

I third this request.
Fourth…if we hit 1200, does that guarantee us a booking? That would be kind of cool.
it's worth a shot - "fifth'ed".

(hey, it's been several weeks since i put in my last aphex twin request… i should set a reminder in outlook for myself).
