Motorhead in late April/early May perhaps?
Not happening, Lemmy's diabeetus is acting up. They just cancelled the European shows.
There's a reason I mentioned late April/early May…barring any future cancellations Motorhead is playing Coachella in April and also playing some horrible 2 day festival in Charlotte NC in early May so…
Oh hey look Slowdive have an American booking agent. http://www.slowdiveofficial.com/ Very very last thing on the page.

I'd recommend if you get all the way to Spain, you take a rain check and skip the music festival.

not good?
Pixies are always good, I was just perplexed by the choice of venue. Strath is only a couple hundred more than 930, and I can't imagine that Pixies would've had any trouble selling out 930 for even a pair of shows at that price point. My confusion is mostly around why they were playing the Strathmore instead of 930, DAR (like a few years ago), or any great number of other venues you book.
As good as the show was, I spent the first 45-60 min just trying to get comfortable with the odd venue-choice; it took a while to "fall into" the show experience at Strathmore.
Strathmore has a capacity of around 800 more people than the 930 Club (I found out after doing a quick internet search). With tickets around $55, that is over $40,000 more money.
I had a feeling that Strathmore wouldn't be the best place to see Pixies (I figured driving a few hours round-trip would be worth it for the experience of seeing them in a rock club, and am glad I did).
Anyways, Slowdive!

couldn't that $40,000 easily be covered by the soda beverage markup at 9:30?

Yeah I guess 1,200 (930) vs 1,976 (Strthmore) is more than the "couple hundred" difference I mentioned, but 2,400 of two 930 Club shows is more than 1,976, and as Wizzle says, the F&B at 930 is WAY higher than Strathmore (who doesn't allow food / drink in the concert hall).
Barring that, while I don't enjoy DAR very much, that venue hosts 3,702 patrons, and has housed The Pixies before.
In a perfect world, I'd see The Pixies twice in one night at the 930 Club, and IMP would sell more tickets and WAY more F&B than one show at Strathmore.
So Seth the question stands, why book Pixies at Strathmore? IMP doesn't get a ton of shows up there (indeed this is the first one I've seen), and this was such an odd fit. Seems to me that if you were going to book someone at Strathmore, just about any of your Lincoln Theatre shows would be a better match for that venue. Why not bring The Pixies into the city, ideally 930?
Don't you think Seth's booking cost would double as well in a hypothetical 2 Pixies shows @ 930 in one night scenario. That throws your numbers all off. Bands aren't high-class escorts you pay by the night; they're per performance like your local prostitutes. Otherwise every band scheduled at 930 would play four concerts per day.
Strathmore holds 600 more than 930
and because it's such a highbrow place, people aren't as offended at high tickets there
all adds up to a lot more money for the band

Seth if you're reading I will take Strathmore over DAR any day of the week..even if it costs more.
the sound is excellent at Strathmore and awful at DAR..the sight lines are excellent at Strathmore and awful at DAR
I realize DAR is much bigger but if you guys are ever on the fence..if its dead even about which one..think of Hutch for a sec and go with Strathmore!
btw I saw the Pixies at DAR on their first DC show and the sound was, wait for it, substandard… i feel like we got jipped at that show…and so does one other person in the world who was with me whose name i will not divulge.
anyhow, thank for all the great show you guy book..it is very much appreciated.
