Hey Seth

Yeah, I agree in-person ticketing would be a disaster. Not only does it isolate people who live more then 30 minutes from your venue, but who is going to be in the best position to camp out for tickets: Mr I Have A Real Job, or Mr Scalper? Geez.

I think it would deter some casual scalpers who do it now just because it is so easy to get tix under the current system.

This I agree on.  The deadbeat who works a regular job but buys tix online just to be a craigslist scalper would be eliminated.  But I think the pros would absorb that part of the market and when they have a bigger piece of the prime ticket pool the prices will go up.  The tix have a higher cost and are more difficult to obtain.
Hey Seth

Just thought I'd chime in a request for Gary Numan and Orbital again.
OK, I get the point that in-person sales might be a bad idea.  I just hate how with the current system there is no way to reward effort.  It seems like in a fair system, there should be a way to reward people that are willing to put in the effort to get prime seats.

On the issue of Hey Seth requests, can we get some Slayer action?  Two more nights at the club would be peachy!

Hey Seth, Modest Mouse is in South Carolina on July 20th, New Jersey on the 22nd.  Anychance you can get them to pop into the club on July 21st as they drive through the area?
Who other than The Fleshtones is playing the 30th anniversary show?
Was Seth able to scrape up some Lounge Lizards? The Urban Verbs? Tex Rubenowitz (sp?)? Tiny Desk Unit? Sadly, we know it's too late for The Cramps. Black Market Baby? Minor Threat is a good guess. Dave Grohl, in some form, would be a cool surprise for his fans considering that the club was his playpen of sorts, though I highly doubt that would happen. Then again, if Dave's in town, bet he'd enjoy stopping in for the party.

Of that list, I'm thinking that The Urban Verbs have the best chance of making an appearance.
Tomorrow at the club is a dark day and Shrinebuilder are playing last-minute shows in the states to make up for canceled Euro dates including one in Richmond tonight. How about adding one here?

Edit: and if that's not doable, you'll sell at least a few more tickets if they are added to the Rams Head Tuesday bill.
Keane are touring the UK, Ireland, and Portugal in May, June, and July and will be in America (Denver) for a festival in August…

Any chance they could stop by the Club or DAR C.H.?

I had to miss the show the last time they were here and would LOVE to see them.

hey seth,

is this an IPM show?  if so, would it be possible to have a presale?  thanks!
Seth, Rufus Wainwright has U.S. tour dates July/Aug. Can you bring him to the club please? Thanks.

hey seth,

thanks.
50 Cent is touring, and will be in NC on 6/19 and doesn't have a show schedule for the 20/21 before being in NYC on the 22nd.  All the shows are in small venues, is there any chance of a club show, and not a Baltimore show?  Thanks.
that's a b'more/non-natural DC show if i've ever heard of one… ;D
Hey Seth!

Gary Numan had to cancel his brief US stint last weekend because of the volcano. He has said he plans to return around September to make up for it, and this time, include more dates. Oh yeah - he's performing The Pleasure Principle in its entirety, too.

This would make an absolutely awesome club show.
How about a 50 Cent/Gary Numan co-headlining bill?
Any chance of snagging Jeff Tweedy for a local show when he is on the east coast in August (he has a Philly date)?

Maybe two nights at the Lincoln th.?
Placebo please… They missed their last tour due to illness or the like, maybe they are ready to rock this place.

Damn, I would totally go to that. The Pleasure Principle was one of the first records I ever bought, if not the first (exclusing Disco Duck, Free to Be You & Me, and Abba).
