I live in the Shenandoah Valley . . . of Virginia. How, dare you.
Hey Seth
Modest Mouse is on tour this fall. The last date on it is in Richmond on October 15th. It would be nice to not have to drive to Richmond to see them…

I did not know there was an offer. If it still stands, I would take you up on it. I'm leaning towards buying tickets for the Richmond show this weekend.

I'll keep an eye out for one on Craigslist if you like.
Ah, dang, you are right. I pulled up the ticket site earlier but did not try to buy one. I will probably cop one closer to the date.

Hey Seth, the Ronnie James Dio hologram is going on tour… Sounds like a Natural Anthem Show!
Any chance of getting Borns to play late October? He just released a new single and some tour dates.

That's a mild improvement, but it's not good enough.
And to the person that suggested that we should just ask in the FAQ forum for the set times for all the shows we attend, the questions are being unanswered there. So far the answers are just what time the show starts and maybe when it ends, and nobody even bothered to reply with that miserly information to the question about the Ben Gibbard show.
The part that makes me sad is that, honestly, posting the set times was what made me a fan of the 9:30 Club in the first place. It showed how well the place was managed, and it respected the audience. I'm dismayed by this sudden reversal. I work late into the evening most days, and I guarantee that the direct result is that I will attend fewer shows because of this change in policy.
Thanks for the Belle and Sebastian mini fest last night, Seth!
All bands were awesome! good vibes everywhere ;D

Agreed. Also, Ex Hex were the best opening band ever. Never saw an opener get a standing ovation (by the whole pavilion) before. I did not envy Andrew Bird for having to follow them!
Agreed last night was tops. Weather could not have been better the last two nights for end of July. Really odd setlist by Belle and Sebastian. Got to hear some songs live I never had.
Seth, thanks for making Merriweather even more awesome…and I know it's not done yet. All I can say is wow. Amazing job. Makes me even more excited to see what Anthem is going to be like. How about giving a few boardies a sneak peak closer to the opening date? Nothing to pump up the excitement like getting folks to start talking about how cool it's going to be.

Ex Hex is currently the best band in DC. I knew they'd be wonderful, but that was the best they've ever performed (and I've seen them like 5 or 6 times). The two new songs shredded. I actually think I may have enjoyed them the most, though the Belle and Sebastian dance party at the end of their set was fantastic.

Yeah, I've seen them a couple times before, too, as headliners even, and I've always enjoyed them, but this was by far the best performance I've seen from them.
Thanks again for the block feature Seth, it really is a wonderful thing. It would be nice if somebody that you block would not be able to see your posts… But this works!

Yes, thanks IMP/Seth. Truly a good time. My 4th and probably last show at MPP for the year. Excited to see the results of the additional renovations next summer.
Heaven 17 just announced their first ever US show, any chance of a DC show? Bucket list for many I suspect…
