Hey Seth

Why are you pouncing on me again, sweetie? You know how I love micro-managing comments. :-*
Date specification? It actually works sometimes, whether they intend to benefit me or not.

yes, my comment was in reference to your date specifications. if a band is playing philadelphia on march 1 and raleigh on march 3, guess when they'll be playing the 930? how well do you think this conversation would go: "we'd love to have you perform at the 930, but march 2 doesn't work for us… maybe you guys could hit up atlanta and tampa first, then swing back by DC on your way to texas? that way we could sell at least one more ticket…"

between the band's schedule, the club's availability/previous bookings, and who knows what other business concerns go in to these contracts, i feel that asking for a specific date is pointless. if a date request of yours has been met i'd chalk it up as a happy coincidence :)
3/30/2005 - w/The 22-20's and Golden Republic

The openers were so much better than him.

He's played the Black Cat at least once.

Damn. :( I wonder when (to Google I go). It must've been around the time of Happiness in Magazines or even earlier, because I would have definitely not missed it otherwise. Other than a brief set at SXSW, I don't believe he's done any U.S. dates in support of The Spinning Top.
jonsi will be doing a big-production, multimedia tour in april after his coachella gig: http://www.fiftynineproductions.co.uk/project?p=58

i think DAR would be a great venue for this.
Chock it up however you like, sweetie, I do. Coincidence, yes, but when I gamble it doesn't hurt to ask.
(as you did when you asked for a show not to be oversold.)
A couple of my date wishes have happened. In this case, I didn't look at Peter Gabriel's dates, relying on another who wrote "May".
(Sorry for the needless cross-talk, everyone.)

And, it's Scorpions, dontcha know?;)

maybe it's the scorpions… according to http://www.the-scorpions.com/english/ they've recorded their last album and are going to do a farewell tour. maybe hutch has heard that IMP is bringing them to DC?

either that, or "the scorps" are going on before florence and the machine…

June 19th, 2010 M3 festival in Columbia, Maryland - at Merriweather Post Pavilion

Other acts they are talking to are:TESLA,JACKYL, DIRTY LOOKS, SEBASTIAN BACH, WINGER AND BRITNY FOX

Meh….

I would see a Scorpions show in a heartbeat. But not as part of this kind of Jaxxapalooza.

<shudder>

Sounds so hairy.
Then again….It sounds kind of awesome. :)

But surely much, much less hairy as it would have been at one time. :D

Not in the least my cup of tea but what I'm very much hoping for is that the guy who made Heavy Metal Parking Lot shows up with a full camera crew. That would make for a bizarre sequel.
Not as hairy as you.

"Dizzy Reed?????? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
Thanks for the most ridiculous/unexpected black metal lineup I've seen in a while.
Didn't Gorillaz play the 9:30 Club once? I know The Good, the Bad & the Queen did.

If Albarn and co. tour Plastic Beach (other than Coachella), I wonder if the Club or DAR would be a natural stop… *fingers crossed*
Yes, at least once. Possibly even a second time though not too sure on that one. First time was maybe the Fall of 2001. Or possibly Spring of 2002. Heard they had a gauzy type of cloth or screen in front of them so that they played behind that. Might have been projections on the thing but I might be making that part up. I wasn't there so only going by what all I heard.

This one (at the club) has me speechless so I'll just let it speak for itself:
W 4/7 Mayhem w/ Ludicra ? Tombs ? Krallice 10pm Doors

Where the fuck does one begin in expressing a reaction to such a bill?

i didn't know what you meant by your first post… i thought you were mocking/poking fun at that line-up.

this time around - or at least at coachella - they'll be projecting on a clear plastic screen stretched across the front of the stage, using some new high-tech projection technology. it will look like the animated characters are on stage with the musicians. given the amount of tech going in to this show, should it hit the road i suspect they'd put it in bigger venues… so yeah, DAR, if not bigger (patriot, etc).
Wow, sounds cool. ;D I hope (pray) they tour.
No mockery was intended by that at all. Incredibly psyched for this show.
That was just me in awe.

Hey Seth,

Any chance you could bring Ween to the 930? Maybe a two night stand?
I would love to see Ian Brown at the Club. If he tours America in support of his most recent solo album.

Now you know there's only one way of getting that to happen.
