Please?
At the club? That's kinda an over reach, let's crawl before we walk, let alone a full sprint. RnR Hotel, MAYBE BC, but full club action, nah my man…too soon. Remember this is BIZNESS.
What *I* would do, is double bill him with Dizzee Rascal and/or Mark Ronson.

Just saying. That'd be a great show.
Much better idea, but then you should tag their booking agents with the request, as omnipotent as Seth is I doubt he can arrange a one off of obscure acts for your personal pleasure, start a petition for them to tour and if the risk/reward differential on Seth's calculator pops up $$$$$$ I'm sure he'll book it even without the request, just saying….

I 2nd this. Skipping DC is not acceptable behavior.

given that she's only playing NYC and LA, she's in fact skipping most of the country - so it's not as if she's targeting DC for omission.

Again much like Bjork, Polly has earned the right to do whatever the phuck she likes, and if you have to go to her rather than her coming to you so be it. Hell she's only doing two dates (London & Brighton) in the UK post new album release.

She pretty much said she wouldn't be doing full tours anymore, though it was widely misreported as her saying she'd never play live again.

Hopefully she'll get the itch and want to do something a little more extensive, say Daft Punk or RATM like, hitting most "parts" of the country.

But having her on the eastern seaboard is still fairly convenient and a whole hell of a lot better than nothing.
Yeah, but Polly's NYC show is on a Wednesday and some of us working stiffs don't have the luxury of going up after work and being back in the office by the morning.
beyonced, you sure do kill everyone's "wishful thinking". Are you Seth's new Business Admin? ;)
On a completely different topic, I want to say thanks again to Seth for reading this board and taking my suggestion to put up new hooks in the ladies' room bathroom stalls (I can't remember if it came up in the earlier "Hey Seth" thread, or Seth had started a thread on what improvements could be made to the club – I feel like I faintly remember the latter).

I was at The National last night, and once again thought – "I love these hooks! Not having to put my purse on the wet floor is…well just thank goodness."

fair point, for me it fortunately fell in an open window of opportunity, though it is brutal to work all day, head up there, and get back in time for work the next day.

But it is PJ Harvey, and there's really no alternative.

To show you how sick I am, I once took a train from Sevilla to Barcelona to see her, 12 hours up, 65 minute set, and another 12 hours back (this was pre-deregulation and cheap flights) and I don't regret it to this day.

I couldn't work with or for Seth, you guys always begging for unrealistic shit would either put me on suicide watch or deathrow, either way it would cut into MY concert going time.
Well, I knew PJ Harvey was a long shot. How 'bout a Patti Smith show? She hasn't played the club in a while.

Yes, please.
Nada Surf's current tour w/Sea Wolf ends with Charlottesville (11/1) and Baltimore (11/2). Any chance for a DC date shortly thereafter? Monday 11/5 looks free :)

hey seth: i had a chance to check out calvin last night in NYC and it was sheer madness, a dance party in a sardine can. the consensus is that he tore the place up (for example, see this blog with links to others at bottom), so we got buzz. "early LCD soundsystem" is a commonly-made comparison.

his sound really needs a bigger space. some slut mentioned that he'll be touring more extensively later this fall…

and jersey boy replies: he'll sell out the club, of this i'm confident. i'd be happy to bet on it: if calvin harris plays the 930, his show will sell out. name your wager.
I think fantasy football is turning us all into gambling addicts. Can we have a thread without someone making a side bet about some issue?
i'll bet you $10 that it won't happen until the NFL post-season starts.

THANK YOU! Matter of fact, you won't even need Dizzee Rascal, just a Calvin/Mark Ronson tour would be all thats needed to sell the club out!
I need to bring you guys to my drug free work place for detox, you believe that a solo Calvin show would sell out the simply because he rocked YOUR world in a tiny NYC venue? And what a bet that is, if Seth even booked that show I'd BET it'd be his last. You clowns kill me, that alternate universe sounds like fun!
wow, way to come across sounding like an ass… i thought that was my specialty :)
