Those bands can play arenas for that kind of ticket price, and sell far more tickets than the 9:30 holds.

Seth, can you please get Cobra Starship to play at 9:30? They sold it out in March with openers that weren't as famous, and they are just playing Sonar for now. I'd love a DC date especially since Sonar is on a Wednesday. Thanks.
Oh yeah, and my obligatory asking for Craig David and Kylie Minogue haha.

TV On The Radio and Opeth will be in the area in October. Any chance that we could get either of those bands at the club?

Myra, I just saw the exact same thing and immediately came here to post. LOL.
God, if this is anything like the drunken mess that was the last Hives show with a few other boardies, I may not make it through the night.

Hey Seth,
A lot has been said lately with Radiohead's recent tour about the ecological costs associated with major tours, particularly at large venues outside the range of mass transit. Recently, I bought tickets for an event at the Charlottesville Pavilion and after selecting the number of tickets I wanted, it offered me the ability to buy a 40cent CO2 offset credit for each ticket, if I chose. It's not a full-scale answer to the environmental questions being raised, by any means, but even the opponents of the CO2-credit system admit it does afford some help (along side the push for car pooling, etc).
I know VFest and Merriweather both pride themself on their green-ness and trying to preserve the natural environment as much as possible. Would it ever be possible to have a similar opt-in system for CO2 offset credits for IMP shows held away from the 9:30 Club, or does ticketmaster make it impossible? Has there ever been any thought to building in money to the ticket cost (like some places charge a "facility fee" in addition to the ticket, well, in this case, an environmental fee), or is this perhaps already happening?

Hey Seth, thanks for the hooks. They are the nice double ones which will be much nicer in the Winter months. Easy to hold the purse and a coat. We appreciate that probably much more than you'll ever know.

Remember back in the Middle Ages when people would buy Papal indulgences from the Catholic Church to absolve themselves of their alleged sins? CO2 credits are the modern day equivalent.
Repent ye sinners.

Tickets already cost enough, we don't need more hidden charges. If venues offered a shuttle service from other public transit sites, I would opt in to pay for that.
