Hey Seth

I want to reiterate my Florence + the Machine request.  ;)  I know they played the sold out co-headlining (with the Temper Trap) show earlier this year, but she has become even more popular since.  I'm sure there would be lots of interest in another D.C. area show.

10-30 New Orleans, LA - Voodoo Music Festival
10-31 Boston, MA - House of Blues
11-01 New York, NY - Terminal 5
11-02 New York, NY - Terminal 5
11-03 Toronto, Ontario - The Sound Academy
11-05 Oakland, CA - The Fox Theatre
11-06 Los Angeles, CA - The Wiltern
11-07 Los Angeles, CA - The Wiltern

I wonder if they would play the Club or the Constitution Hall at this point (post-VMAs)…
Cool shindig last night!  I even got called in as relief DJ for the festivities…
Florence show last time sucked. She doesn't sing, she wails! ICK!

I wish you would take over the bars in College Park and show them how music, booze, and underage kids can peaceably coexist.

Well the stabbing was at Thirsty Turtle. I can't say that is really a surprise. Sadly, Santa Fe closed last semester and that was the only bar that would have live music on a regular basis. Albeit, Fe had terrible sight lines and was actually a terrible building to host concerts from.

If someone created a new concert space from an existing building in downtown CP that was actually a half decent 400-500 person sized venue, it may have some promise. But trying to build anything nice in College Park is usually a poor decision.
dear seth & other 930'ers,

i have a request for the Underworld show: could you please push the stage as far back as possible regardless of how sold out (or not) the show is?

i know it's custom to move the stage forward and back according to crowd size to create a sense of intimacy.  that's wonderful for most acts, but Underworld (and other dance acts) would benefit from the extra space on the floor for groovin' to the music.  it would be silly, IMO, to be packed in like sardines if we don't have to be.

thanks!
WEEN Please.
we don't generally move the stage up unless it's a small crowd
I think his poorly worded request was to NOT move the stage up, even if attendance is sparse.

yeah, that's what i meant.  sorry if it was less than clear…

but i'm interpreting seth's response as: this won't be an issue for Underworld, since the crowd won't be small.  so i'm all set.  i think.  thanks.
