OH HELLS YES. their last show in brooklyn was mind-blowing… amazing visuals and the place turned into a giant, ecstatic dance party. i, and several thousand other people, left the show on a huge high. quote of the night, on the way out of the venue: "FUCK THE PYRAMID!!!", in reference to daft punk's show. it's definitely up there with DP's stage show (however, the frenchies still win this head-to-head IMO.. but it's a good fight).

they played at coachella last year, didn't they? anyone catch their set?

not sure if the club is big enough for the chem bros, considering how much equipment they cart around and the size of the production… maybe MPP? now that would rule. whether DC could fill MPP for a CB show is the pertinent question. i am definitely catching them if they play on the east coast. i'd rather not trek to NYC, but i will if i have to. seth, don't make me go to NYC!

prediction: chem bros headline lolla.

sweetcell, I was at that same Brooklyn show. My friend and I came from Richmond for it and had a great time. However, the audience at that show was kinda lame where I was. They were barely moving and just kinda bopping their heads. Tom even look frustrated at one point, yelling "come on!" to the crowd or so it seemed. But it was a great show on their part, and I'd love to see them again. If I had to, and had more people going, I'd be willing to go to NYC again to see them.

They wont play MPP, they're not that big unfortunately. They'll play the 9:30 if anywhere (which would be an awesome venue for them!). Their last tour reportedly didn't sell that well :(

Their set at Coachella was pretty good. It was a DJ set and not a live, so expectations were different. They played a more classic/old school mix which left a lot of people feeling it was "meh", but whatever. I really enjoyed it. They briefly played some of their own music (saturate, song to the siren).
Hey Seth,
Jakob Dylan is set to release a new solo album on Apr. 6. Tour dates may be in the works…if so, can you please grab him and bring him back to the club? Each of the two times he has been to the club, I was out of town. Would love the opportunity to see him solo at the club. Thanks!
(and, no, not Th/Fri of Memorial Day weekend. <-just for you sweetcell! j/k! but not really.;))

if/when something is announced, let's talk.

agreed, 930 is the right-sized venue for them but that'll probably mean a smaller show… but hopefully still live, not a DJ set.

You're on, sweetcell. I will definitely be making an effort to see them if they hit up the east coast this summer.

jonsi will be doing a big-production, multimedia tour in april after his coachella gig: http://www.fiftynineproductions.co.uk/project?p=58

i think DAR would be a great venue for this.

tour dates will be announced on monday, so my "hey seth" came too late… if we have a DC show, it's because IMP was talking to them weeks if not months ago. sorry for the short notice :-\

album drops on april 5.
^ Oh, stop being so modest! You'll take all of the fun out of it.

Personally, I'd love to see him in Baltimore at the the Lyric.

Seth, you can do it. Both DC and Baltimore. No Ram's Head for Jonsi though. That would be like throwing a diamond into a tin box.
oh wow, hadn't considered that: opera venues would be amazing for this. seeing this at strathmore, lyric or the kennedy… <melts>
My 2nd choice for Baltimore would be the Meyerhoff. Not as thrilled with that though. The Lyric is much cozier and more intimate.

The Lincoln Theatre would also be a good consideration for the DC show.

Rumor (?) is that he will tour w/ Neko Case and Kelly Hogan. Singing his songs and them on bgvx. Something like that. Seth, if so, club is still preferred. Theatre style would do, and MPP or Mason would be just too big and less intimate. Thanks!
Hey Seth,

I have another unrealistic yet awesome request for ya:

Leftfield have gotten back together, and are performing at the RockNess festival this year.

Any remotely possible chance of a 9:30 gig if they decide to come stateside?
March dates pretty well booked at the club, but for what it's worth, screw RHT, bring 'em closer to DC?

Thanks for the most ridiculous/unexpected black metal lineup I've seen in a while.

Hey Seth

Faith No More just sold out 2 pre-Coachella dates at the Warfield in San Francisco and they just added a 3rd show.

Any of chance of getting them in the area in late spring/summer time?

a few nights at the club would be amazing.
Hey Seth, Orbital just added a pre-coachella gig in SF. Maybe this is the start of a US tour?

and maybe said tour could include a stop at the 9:30?
Where in SF?!

Been waiting patiently for opportunity to request MGMT: new album out Apr 13.
Thank thee!
John Fogerty at either the club or MPP
