The Feelies Saturday 3/14

You are the MAN, Seth! Happy New Year!

<o> <3 Seth 2  ;D

And now, here's Dave Weckerman with the rest of the Feelies on Pete Doherty, which happens to be my thoughts exactly (video):

my god, what a bunch of old farts proving they are bunch of out of tune old farts.  eat more wheatgrass.
I'm thinking the 930 is too big for the Feelies…

Anyway, I saw them open for Sonic Youth on July 4th and they were nothing special.
Whatev!! Some of us ARE old farts…the Feelies fucking rule. Watch "Something Wild" during the reunion scene.

hey Seth, speaking of old bands (which incidentally still rock harder than most others), Social Distortion is celebrating 30 years…any chance you can bring them to the 9:30?

I always thought it would be SO cool if Social D did a series of shows where they recreated all their LPs in order from start to finish each night…minus Prison Bound of course. That'd be so fun. Seeing them do that with "Mommy's Little Monster" is something I'll never forget.

Big Pete Doherty fan, there Walkie? Can you name any of his music?

Hey I saw those shows too!  I think it was winter of 05 or 06 in southern california?  Mommy's Little Monster front to back….amazing shows.  Mike Ness was going OFF on stage. He looked like he was having a blast playing those songs.
is it wrong to love pete?  at first i thought he was going to be a show only toss off, but his music and songs are nice flowing and old stonish.  i can honestly say, that i've only listened to him as a babyshamble, and i find both albums great.  so there.
I believe Levon Helm has some sort of 2009 tour plans.  Anything DC related, perhaps?
Hey Seth,

Any chance for Prince.  That would be awesome, maybe if he does an Arena tour can you snag him for a club show.

By the way, I noticed Pink is booked abroad for all of 2009 save one month.  Have they said there will be no US tour until 2010 or none at all?  I mean 1.5 years is a while to wait for a US tour from her.

Hell, Prince in an arena is fine by me.  Or a 21+ night stint at the 930 club.  Either one…
hey seth (still love ya)

can we have a tall person only show and then a short person only show for each artist.  twice the shows, twice the ticket sales.
Hey Seth, sorry for the short suspense, but how about John Doe? Perhaps another smaller club may be prudent (930 needs a "backstage" too) for him, but for what it's worth….

Can we get a Prodigy date at the club?  They are doing to be in the states for the Ultra Music Festival in March.

;D
a friend of mine used to have this bootleg of the Prodigy doing some live set with Rage Against the Machine…..it was like the most intense thing i ever heard, ever.
Prodigy was the last show I ever saw at Nation. It was epic. Would love a 930 show.

That is one of my favorite shows. It sucks that they dont tour the US more.  Too bad Nation didnt last, that was a good venue for things like Prodigy shows.
I'll never forget the insanity of the Prodigy with Meat Beat Manifesto back in 1998 at 9:30. Easily one of the sweatiest concerts I've ever seen. During "Smack My Bitch Up" I remember thinking how I'd never seen the entire floor downstairs jumping up and down in one collective mass…it was intense. I still love that band, but it was "Experience" that made me a fan and I still think that's their best record. Another 9:30 show would be fun.
Hey Seth,

It's me, Charlie. I never ask you for anything. I've never once asked for Aphex Twin or any of the tired reunion crap that other boardies continually demand.

How about a Club appearance by Springsteen after his show on the Mall? With reasonably priced (double digit dollar amount) tickets for boardies.

Yours,

Mr. Nakatestes
yeah, cause theres nothing tired about Springsteen….  ::)
…says the guy who saw Radiohead three times last year…
