Hey Seth

Their site says an announcement regarding the show is "imminent" and that it will be the last L&G show.

any word if polyphonic spree still even exists as a touring band here in the u.s. and not in weird, i could not point them out on a map, countries, and if so, seeing how you are a magician of music and seeing how i follow your yellow brick movements . . . could you arrange them to play with say, a reunited the amps as openers?  god, that was asking too much wasn't it.
Dont they have a summer album coming…?  I really want to see them as well.  The 930 Fragile Army show was simply amazing.

Don't know though I do know a guy who use to be in the band. He never talks about them so I had assumed that they had split up but maybe that's just because he's moved on to other musical projects.
Hey Seth, we want to be floating in space.
But Jag, if you have 24 members and one quits, you still have 23 members for your band…
^ That's exactly what I was saying. That and what I didn't mention was because I hadn't heard a thing at all about them in a few years, I sort of assumed that they had all moved on to other things, including the lead member.
According to their webpages they played in Australia in March. (who/which 24, I don't know)
Tell Lisa to book LCD Soundsystem NO MATTER WHAT!

Pretty please…Dean Wareham doing Galaxie 500 songs! I'd really love to see him. He's doing some limited shows in Atlanta, Philly, LA, NYC and SF.

Plus one! Please.  Many great Luna shows over the years at 930 (including one they recorded for live album).. Bring Dean and Britta back!
The lackluster Dean&Britta show that I saw a year or two ago at the Black Cat wasn't near to being sold out.

I bet a Galaxie 500 reunion show couldn't even sell out the 9:30 Club.

Probably not…but it'd still be nice to be able to see some shows at the 9:30 that don't have the objective of selling out. I still remember the Electrafixion show in 1996 when like 20 people were in the audience, and Ian McCulloch and Will Sergeant were doing a ton of Echo songs again. Some of those shows can be pretty special.

Really I wanted to go to that Electrafixion show but couldn't make it down that night.  It is funny they didn't have Ian and they called it Echo and the Bunnymen.  Ian and Will get back together they call it Electrafixion.  Then they get Wes back change it to Echo and the Bunnymen.  Wes leaves they keep it Echo and the Bunnymen.  They kind of killed their own career doing that.  "Reverberation" shouldn't have been under the Echo name and "Burned" should have been if that was the case they would probably be a lot more popular today.

Anyway back to the point.  They probably figured that show would do pretty well.  They are probably just getting better at booking bands that will fill the place.  I saw a very small crowd show for a Mission UK/Gene Loves Jezebel/Mike Peters show too.

Was at last Dean and Britta show. Great show.

Not sure what was lackluster about a show where they played Galaxie 500 songs for the first time, Velvet Underground, New Order, Bob Dylan

Shit man. that was a great show..went with a three Galaxie/Luna fans who I 've seen Luna with numerous times and we all loved it

The fact they didn't sell out the Black Cat doesn't mean it can't happen at the 930 or that it wasn't a really good show… It means it probably won't

But there have been bands booked at the 930 knowing they are not going to sell out..

Maybe combine them with someone else?

I mean to me they are the kind of band that sort of belong at the 930 because of the numerous shows they played there..cut them a little slack and make it work
Sleep just announced some September dates with three open nights between 9/3 at ATP NY and 9/7 in Philly.
