Hey Seth

Yes, Grace Jones PLEASE.

But more plausible, can we get the Junior Boys/Max Tundra to the club?
Hey Seth,

How did you have U2 in DC with all their gear and no full gig to play, and NOT book a secret show in the club?  Would have blown Irving Plaza out of the water.  And if you say it's because you were in Pittsburgh for the playoffs - friendship over.

smashing pumpkins secret show . . . was nice and pretty cool.

b boys secret show . . . mehhh.

u2 secret show . . . holy shit.

but what would be the ultimate secret show befitting the club?  pearl jam/white stripes/the stones???

Sonic Youth/MBV/JAMC/Dino Jr.

Oh and many thanks for AC again!
I'd like to see the Women/Chad VanGaalen show come through here. This is probably more Black Cat than 9:30, but there's no Hey Black Cat thread. Also, I don't understand why CVG is so ignored. Sigh.
Women are opening for Crystal Stilts on 3/15 at DC9.

I'm going to assume that's not your implied order, because Sonic Youth would play before MBV and JAMC.

Thanks! Although this seems to limit the CVG in DC possibilities. Oh well.
any chance we will ever get manu chao in DC?
Nope, wasn't implying an order with that list.

Martina Topley Bird is going to be in the country performing for the US release of her record in March. It would be AMAZING if we could get her at the club sometime while she's around.

i'd second that. as well as gaslight anthem (for which i'm sure to be flamed) and martina topley bird.

and i'd add:

van morrison
fleet foxes
franz ferdinand
basement jaxx (they haven't played the club since i think 2002?)
So this is probably the most predictable post ever made on this board.

MBV MBV MBV MBV MBV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two nights of MBV and I promise I'll never ask for anything in this thread again.
This is probably happening anyway, but with their new album coming out in March/April…how about Super Furry Animals back at the 9:30 Club?  I enjoyed the hell out of their show last January.
Hey Seth, any chance of getting the Buzzcocks to play?  I heard they're planning a tour in the U.S. in April/May.  Thanks!

yawn…….
Paul Weller will be in NYC on 4/23 as well as Coachella. Can we have a club date, please, Seth?
