Hey Seth

Why, are you sad that there won't be a chance of us meeting up at a show?

Hey Seth,

My wife has accompanied me to numerous alt-country shows that she was at best lukewarm about seeing. Now she is pregnant and due in June, and we'll be going into hibernation for awhile after that. Thus, it would be great to have one show to see that she'd be excited about before our hibernation.

It's not often that she is impressed by a new artist, but Amy Winehouse is one that she is impressed with. Amy appears to have some blank spots on her schedule…5/4, 5/5, 5/10, 5/11. Can you get her at the Club? . Heck, the first two dates are even on my 40th birthday weekend.

I guess an early, seated show might be too much to wish for (because we are pregant and old, repspectively), but since I was wishing…
hey seth -

skinny puppy will be touring this spring/early summer in support of their new album, 'Mythmaker'. an appearance at the club would be way cool, their live shows are always a trip.
Go to Austin, she's playing 3 times a day… every day it seems, it's also nice and warm there with pretty good food. Hell, call it a vacation.

Long Winters, Ane Brun and the Ben Kweller instore are on our calendar.

Josh Rouse at the Birchmere will be good, but too expensive for us right now.

Is Hot Chip coming to the club on 4/21/07?
yes
I can't find the washington post link showing Elvis Costello in May…is he still coming?!
hey seth - a suggestion for the side balconies: please consider putting another tier of risers (steps, platform, whatever) along the side walls. on the side balconies during a packed show there is always about 3-4 feet of empty (unused) space between the wall and the backs of the first people along the edge of the upper tier. those 3-4 feet are unusable b/c you can't see squat. adding another tier along the wall would make part of that space usable again and afford a few more patrons a decent line of sight. just a thought.
I'll agree, since I'd like to see when I'm stuck back there, yet, wouldn't it be a little packed? (It's already tough enough to squeeze between the center rail and wall.) It might be hard for people, staph, etc. to get by and I wonder about fire code. Again, I'm all about more options to see a show, so maybe I'm not seeing the "vision". ;) .
I'm amazed that anyone can see anything at all from the balcony. I can never see anything unless I'm right on the railing, or maybe the first person back.

i wasn't recommending anything for the center rail (i.e. above the soundboard) - as you pointed out, it's already packed in enough as it is. i was talking about the sides. currently there are 3 tiers. i'm calling for a fourth, against the wall.

chutney: eh, what ya gonna do. indeed, unless i'm against the rail i expect to bob and weave for a line of sight between people's heads. same thing with being more than 10 feet away from the stage on the floor - some tall person is bound to block my view there too.

Chutney's got little to complain about - he IS that tall guy blocking your view! He tends to hang back by the soundboard, though.

Yeah - I tend to hang out in the back of the main floor, because I can see over most people. I don't really care much about being close, as long as I can see.
Sebatstien Grainger is going up and down the east coast for a few shows, maybe he can hit 930? Maybe.

Seth, you fucking rule for getting the Stooges to the club :D
Social Distortion is on tour in April and May. Seth, could you bring them back to the Club? Pretty please? You could easily sell out 2 nights at $35 a pop. And Social D's crowds like to drink! Come on…it's a no-brainer!!

ditto. thanks seth!
yes, thanks so much for booking the stooges. so glad iggy is a reasonable man and realized if you're going to tour after all this time you've got to do it right.

iggy: Do you know who I am? I'm Iggy Pop. I was making bones when you were going out with Churchill cheerleaders. We're only playing theaters.

seth (while thatguy holds gun to iggy's head): I assure you either your brains or your signature will be on this contract.
