Julian: EXCELLENT suggestions. Squarepusher, Thievery, Sparklehorse: I'd go to all three. Hey Seth…
Hey Seth
yeah i'd definitely like to see squarepusher. i had big plans to see the squarepusher/plaid tour in 01, but that got screwed up when squarepusher dropped the tour.
04 the tour schedule conflicted with my cross-country drive.
new album = tour? i hope there's at least a dc date if it's not @ 930.
the orb @ 930 again would be good definitely.

oh, and i know it's probably never going to happen again, but: aphex twin.
that was probably one of the most fun shows i've been to at the club, even if i did work 10 hours that day, then drove 2 hours up there for doors at… 11:30(?), then got home around 6-7 or so..

Another vote for squarepusher. I've probably said this on a couple other threads already but it bares repeating. His new album is one of the best of the year. It's my favorite since "Music Is Rotted…"

hey seth: now that Thievery in december is in the works, pretty please consider a volume/message board/e-mail presale for your loyal devotees. Thievery Corp are heavy favorites of many boardees, we'd hate to be shut out. TC's three-night stand last year was legendary. i definitely want to attend any and all shows this year. thanks :)
(hey julian: heaven help me if i base my career aspirations on my 930.com performance, regardless of alignment with your opinions…)

How about The Dears? I see they are in Chicago December 8, and Montreal on the 14th. Maybe in between or shortly after Montreal date? Love their new CD.
seth - an opportunity to bask in the sounds of Daft Punk would be utterly delightful. they might be too big for the club (not that i would complain!) but would make a fine addition to, say, an outdoor festival… (adding squarepusher and/or aphex twin would make the bill irresistable)
God, I will NEVER forget that Aphex Twin show! What a crazy night that was. That's just one that could never be replicated, though it would be fun to try.

Seth, i know the roots usually do a show around NYE at the club, and i would love to see them again this year
I would LOVE to see The Presidents of the United States of America again. It's been so long…I wonder if they're planning an East Coast tour?
explosions in the sky are touring in north america in march with eluvium. i'd much rather go to 930 than the black cat if there's a dc show.
they haven't played dc since 2001, so…

We've been through this already very recently. They played The Ottobar in Baltimore on Nov. 10th, 2003 and DC the night after.
Regardless, Explosions In The Sky would be a nice treat.
Snail booked Eluvium about 2 years ago. Think it was in April. He opened for MONO. That was a great night! (But mostly because of MONO.)

sorry to burst your bubble, but eits did not play DC the night after they played the ottobar. they played first unitarian in philly the following night and in NYC the night before.
the closest date to DC on that tour was @ JMU in harrisonburg. if there was a dc date, i would have gone. i went to both the show at go! room 4 in chapel hill and the show in harrisonburg.
i would have gone to baltimore and philly on that tour as well, but i had some things that kept me from being able to do so.
seriously, the last dc show was 10/05/01 @ the black cat. i keep telling them they need to play dc again. hoping for it on this tour. 930 would be great. i'd really like to see them again in a situation that could close to matching the first time i saw them sound-wise.
Okay, I can't swear to the DC show but seriously, Baltimore is just up the road. Sorry you missed them.

"just up the road" if you live in dc, but i don't live in dc. i caught them in baltimore in 02 and 04 though.
..and i'm seeing them 2x in feb in NYC.
but hey, when's really too much?
..seriously, though trust me on the no dc thing. i've been archiving their tour dates and stuff for years. i got an email from them asking me for a list a while back, so.. hehe
Where do you live?
That's pretty funny, and cool, that the band has to go to you for their tour history. :D

i just started taking note and stuff.. it could have been a more complete list if i'd started sooner. i still have a bunch of dates frm 00-02 that i haven't been able to get any confirmation on… some of those really small shows were really up in the air back then.
